Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday December 28th 2004
Tiffany leaned back on the sofa of her apartment overlooking Bleecker Street as she talked to her sister Starlene on the phone.
"Well, what happened with Double D Deanna over Christmas?" Starlene asked referring to Tiffany's roommate the topless dancer.
"I haven't seen her."
"Really?"
"Yeah, she gave me that envelope full of money and left right before Christmas."
"You told me she gave you three thousand dollars. Didn't you?"
"Yeah, in cash."
"Gee, where do you think she went?"
"I don't know. The only thing I know is that Skeeter said Vinny was gone too," she said referring to her ex-husband and neighbor.
"So you think Vinny and Deanna went off together for Christmas?"
"I guess so."
"I wonder where she got all that money from?" Starlene said.
"I don't know. I really don't like her and I don't want her living here. The only thing is that it's kinda hard to ask her to leave now that she gave me that money."
"Yeah and it's too bad you spent most of it on a coat for Skeeter for Christmas."
"I was so mad Starlene. I couldn't believe him putting on that nice Brooks Brothers overcoat and me sitting there on the sofa with that flimsy negligee from his lingerie store."
"Did you tell him you were angry?"
"I pouted. He wanted me to try on the negligee and I never did. I told him 'I'd get cold in it, but he'd be nice and warm in his new coat.'"
"I'm disappointed in him," Starlene said.
"Me too," Tiffany said.
"What are you doing for New Year's Eve?"
"I don't know. I'm so Po'ed with Skeeter I don't know if I want to be with him or not. But I don't have any other plans," Tiffany said. "I hear somebody at the door," she said as she listened to the sounds of the key in her front door.
"Who is it?"
"It must be Deanna," Tiffany said as the door opened. "It is. I'll call you back," she said hanging up the phone.
"Hi Tiffany. I hope you had a Merry Christmas," Deanna said closing the door and walking into the living room.
"It was okay. How was yours?" Tiffany asked noticing her roommate was dressed in a full-length white mink coat.
"Great! Just great... see," she said turning around and modeling the coat.
"I see. Wow. Where did you get that?"'
"Vinny gave it to me," she said taking it off and handing it to Tiffany. "Try it on," she said.
"No, no thanks," Tiffany said.
"Oh. Okay," she said throwing it on the chair and then taking a seat.
"You and Vinny must be getting along really well?" Tiffany asked.
"Yeah, we went to Florida for Christmas," she said leaning back in the chair and smiling.
"Florida?"
"Yeah, Vinny introduced me to his 'family' there," she said referring to Vinny's Mafia connections.
