Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday December 15th 2004 Starlene dialed the number to Mafia Vinny's cell phone. The phone rang several times. "Yeah, what you want," a man answered in a gruff voice. "I was calling Vinny," Starlene said. "Well I ain't Vinny," the man said. "Do you know where he is?" "Who are you?" the man snapped. "Just a friend." "Right. I ain't Vinny and I don't need any friends," the man said hanging up the phone. Starlene hung up the phone and got up from her sofa. She started to pace the living room floor of her husband's Upper East Side mansion. She wondered if she should call back, but quickly changed her mind. She picked up the phone and hit speed dial. "Hello," Tiffany answered. "I called Vinny's cell phone and some mean sounding man answered," Starlene said. "Did you ask for Vinny?" "Of course I asked for Vinny." "So what did he say?" "He didn't say anything that really made sense. It kinda worries me that Vinny didn't answer his own phone," Starlene said as she paced the floor. "Why?" "Because Vinny's in the Mafia and this guy sounded really mean." "So we still don't know if Vinny is over at Skeeter's apartment or not," Tiffany said. "That's right." "Gee, I wonder if this mystery man that met Deanna after work had anything to do with Vinny," Tiffany said. "I don't know. But Deanna said that she has a lot of money now and Vinny is missing," Starlene said starting to panic. "We don't know if Vinny is missing Starlene. He just didn't answer his cell phone." "Okay. You have to go over to Skeeter's and see if Vinny is there," Starlene said. "No. I don't want to do that. It will look like I'm checking up on Skeeter and Deanna." "Which is exactly what you are doing, so do it." "I really don't want to," Tiffany said listening to the sounds of the music coming from Skeeter's apartment. "Well I can't do anything more to help you Tiffany. I can't believe you're going to sit there in your apartment while your husband is next door with a stripper," Starlene said as anger filled her voice. "Okay. You're right. I'm going over there," Tiffany said. "Will you call me when you get back?" "Sure." "Are you going right now?" "No. I need to put on clothes and do something with my hair. I can't go over there looking like this when Deanna looks like a Guess billboard," Tiffany said. "Are you going to ask her to move out even though she'll pay all the rent?" "Yes. I just can't live like this. I better go. It will take me an hour to get myself more presentable," Tiffany said. "You know you should start getting up and getting dressed every morning Tiffany. It's not healthy to stay in your pajamas all day," Starlene said. "Stop it." "You're depressed Tiffany, it shows," Starlene said her voice filled with pity for her unemployed older sister. "Who wouldn't be? I lost my job. I live with a stripper and my ex-husband invites her next door to his apartment. Of course I'm depressed," she said starting to cry. "Don't cry. If you cry you won't be able to go next door," Starlene said. "I can't help it," Tiffany said choking back tears. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
