Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday December 7th 2004 "Who is it?" Tiffany called out as she walked to the front door of her apartment on Bleecker Street. "It's me," Starlene said as Tiffany opened the door. "Hi Starlene. I thought you were out Christmas shopping today," Tiffany said holding the door open for her sister. "I was. I took the presents home and hid them. I thought I'd stop by and see what you're doing. Maybe we could go out to lunch," she said taking off her jacket and tossing it on the sofa. "I can't. I called a few places about a job so I'm waiting to see if they call me back." "Is Double D Deanna home" Starlene whispered referring to her sister's roommate that works in a topless club. "She's at NYU taking a class." "I just can't imagine that girl in a college classroom. Does she dress okay for class?" "Yeah, she wears jeans and a sweater. Of course you can't miss her girls," Tiffany said grinning as she took a seat beside Starlene. "Are you getting along okay with her?" "She's amazingly nice. I hate to say that. I really want to hate her, but she can seem so nice sometimes," Tiffany said. "You mean you're starting to like her?" "No. I wouldn't go that far. I just think she's nicer than I thought. She actually offered to loan me money for Christmas shopping. She says that she makes a lot of money dancing." "Did you take the money?'" "Of course not." "I'll let you borrow money from me," Starlene said taking out her purse. "No. I'll get a job. I still have some time before Christmas," Tiffany said. "Okay, just let me know. What else did she say?" "She says she wants me to trust her. She says she wants us to be like sisters," Tiffany said remembering the conversation last night. "That was a perfect invitation to ask her if she danced for Skeeter while they were alone in the apartment." "I know. I just couldn't though. I hated to act like I didn't trust her after she was nice enough to want to give me money." The phone rang on the coffee table and Tiffany picked it up. "Hello," Tiffany answered. "Is Deanna there?" a strange man asked. "No, she's in class now. May I take a message?" "Deanna does live there though?" "Yes," Tiffany said frowning. "Is this the same Deanna that lived in Las Vegas?" "Yes. Why? Who is this?" Tiffany asked. "I'll call later." "Is there something wrong?" "No. I'll call later." "Could I tell her who called for her?" "No. She's never talked to me before. She wouldn't know. I'll call later," the man said hanging up the phone. "Well, I wonder what that means? He wouldn't tell me who he is or why he wants to talk to Deanna," Tiffany said leaning back on the sofa. "Probably just a guy from that club she works in," Starlene said. "He knew she lived in Las Vegas before," Tiffany said shaking her head. "Maybe she's done something horrible and she's hiding here," Starlene said as they heard the front door open. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
