Pickle Day is a big to-do! There was face painting as you see in the picture on the top right.
Center right picture you see Orchard Street and the umbrellas with lines of people waiting to sample the free pickles. There were also stories posted on the walls about the families that opened the pickle stores on the Lower East Side. There was even a Belly Dancer but we missed that, sorry.
Bottom right picture you see another shot of Orchard Street and the colorful clothes for sale. The street is closed to traffic on Sundays and the Jewish Merchants sell their merchandise on the streets. A year or so ago they had stopped this custom and sold only in the stores. We are very happy to report the street is closed to traffic and lined with great buys once again.
