On today's photo tour as always, we'll endeavor to enlighten our readers to one of the many pleasures of our multi-cultural city. Never heard of 'Pickle Day'? Recently the Lower East Side hosted the 2nd Annual NYC 'International Pickle Day.' This sweet and sour event was co-sponsored by the NY Food Museum. Remember, it's a good practice to learn something new everyday folks.
Top right picture you see musicians on Orchard Street playing tunes while visitors pick those pickles.
Center right picture you see the stand from a very popular Lower East Side pickle store, Guss' Pickles.
Bottom right picture you see Orchard Street and the Jewish merchants that sell clothes, handbags, etc. When you got your fill of pickles there was plenty of bargain shopping.
