Chinatown is like a city within a city. Of the estimated 512,000 Asian population of New York, roughly three-fourths are Chinese. The majority of Manhattan's 110,000 Asians live in Chinatown. This doesn't mean you have to be Chinese to enjoy this lively neighborhood! Most of the residents don't speak English but their smiles let you know that you are very welcome in their wonderful neighborhood.
All of the photos today were shot near Bowery and Division Street. Here you'll pass by many restaurants serving the various cuisine of China including Cantonese, Hunan, Mandarin and Szechuan. Dining isn't the only great activity of Chinatown however shopping might be the very best.
