Villa Mosconi Restaurant
69 MacDougal Street between Bleecker Street and Houston Street. Average main course $20. Great Italian food, warm atmosphere and excellent service, everytime. A large and classy Italian restaurant with a garden, private dining for parties, and top-rated Italian food.
Babbo
110 Waverly Place between MacDougal Street and Sixth Avenue. 212-777-0303. Average main course $27. Mario Batali bought the old famed Coach House Restaurant and townhouse in Greenwich Village. Seemingly overnight, he transformed it into a magnificent home and dining extravaganza known as "Babbo" throughout the world! Try the specialties like fluffy gnocchi, calamari or ricotta with caramelized bananas.
Barolo Restaurant
398 West Broadway between Spring and Broome Street. 212-226-1102. Average main course $20. You'll see the fashion conscious and money of New York here. This Soho restaurant has beautiful décor and a big garden in the back.
Lupa
170 Thompson Street between Bleecker Street and Houston Street in Greenwich Village. 212-982-5089. Average main course $14. Jason Denton in partnership with Mario Batali makes this bistro a Greenwich Village must do.
Po Restaurant
31 Cornelia Street off of 6th Avenue. 212-645-2189. Average main course $18. This restaurant was Mario Batali's first. He has gone on to open Lupa, and Babbo. He is a television star and cookbook author. The food is good, however the menu is limited if you want vegetarian foods. The restaurant is very small, inexpensive and good.

Pearl Oyster Bar
18 Cornelia Street between West 4th Street and Bleecker Street. 212-691-8211. Average main course $17. Not too pricey, very small; Great seafood.
Aqua Grill
210 Spring Street at 6th Avenue. 212-274-0505. Average main course $20. This restaurant is always busy and for good reason, it has great seafood. The fish is extremely fresh. It is brought in daily from around the world. You can order grilled, steamed or roasted; the kitchen will prepare your order however you desire. In nice weather a seat outside on the sidewalk deck is fun to watch the Soho activity.
Blue Ribbon Restaurant
97 Sullivan Street between Prince Street and Spring Street. 212-274-0404. Average main course $19. This restaurant has become a Soho institution. If you're in the mood for Raw Bar you'll find superb bluepoints, Malpeques and crawfish. Blue Ribbon offers you the classic steak, duck breast and wonderful desserts. The restaurant is pretty and the patrons are beautiful. It isn't stuffy and the service is great.
