Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday May 12th 2005 Tiffany glanced up when the glass door of the modeling agency where she works in the Empire State Building opened. Her sister Starlene walked in smiling. "Hi Starlene," she said as she watched her take a seat in the chair beside Tiffany's desk. "How's it going? Did Skeeter leave this morning?" she asked remembering Tiffany's phone call to her concerning her ex-husband's visit last night. "Yeah. I heard him slam the front door of his apartment," she said referring to Skeeter's apartment right next door to hers on Bleecker Street. "I got out of the bed and looked out of the window. I saw him putting his suitcase in the cab." "I wonder why he wouldn't tell you when he's coming home?" "He's suspicious," Tiffany said knowingly. "He's on to how you feel about Jake," Starlene said in a whisper as she nodded her head towards Jake's office. "It's okay. Jake's out at on appointment this morning," Tiffany said. "Good, then we can talk. How's it going with Jake?" "Okay. He told me the other day that I'm doing a good job. I can't concentrate when he's around Starlene. He shows me stuff on the computer and I just can't seem to keep my mind on the right things," Tiffany said grinning and fanning her face with her hand. "Oh you're too cute," Starlene laughed before turning her attention to the front door of the office as it opened. "Oh, I hope I no interrupt," Nina said in her broken English. The dark haired gorgeous leggy model walked into the lobby of Jake's offices and stood near Tiffany's desk. "It's just us here. Jake is out on an appointment," Tiffany said hoping she would just leave. "I wait," she said walking to the sleek red sofa she had picked out for his office. She took a seat and leaned back. "I guess I better go," Starlene said. "No. Don't leave for me," Nina objected. "Yeah, don't go Starlene. Jake doesn't mind if you're here," Tiffany said referring to her good-looking new boss. "Okay. I'll stay," Starlene said glancing towards Nina. "This gives us some time to get to know each other," Starlene said smiling as she watched Nina. "Yes," Nina nodded. "Are you married?" Starlene asked. "No. You marry to Mr. Morgan, no?" Nina said nodding her head across the hallway towards Stanley's office. "Yes I'm married to Stanley," she said referring to her older wealthy husband. "Tiffany is married too?" Nina asked. "No, I was married, but now I'm divorced." "Only one happy one here," Nina said pointing to Starlene. "So you want to get married?" Starlene asked. "Oh yes, one day. I hope to marry and have many children." "You want to marry Jake?" Starlene asked. "Starlene! You can't ask her questions like that," Tiffany said feeling obligated to protest. "I don't think Jake ask me that question," Nina said. "But you want to marry him?" "This I can not answer. I don't know," Nina said shaking her head as her long shiny dark hair fell into her face. "If he asked? If he asked you to marry him would you?" Starlene persisted. "We not… how you say? We not that far yet," she said smiling awkwardly. "Morning ladies," Jake said as he surprised the women pushing open the glass door of the office. "Hi," Tiffany said. She watched as Nina got up from the sofa and walked towards her boss. Tiffany's heart sank as she watched Jake kiss the leggy model on the cheek. "Tiffany could you take messages?" Jake asked as he and the tall slender model walked arm and arm towards his office. "Sure," Tiffany said. She turned to her sister and whispered "I guess I don't have a chance." "Don't give up that easy," Starlene whispered as they watched Jake and Nina. "Well, what can I do?" "I've got some ideas," Starlene said in a hushed voice as they watched Nina take a seat in Jake's office. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
