Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday May 11th 2005 Tiffany heard a knock on the front door of her Bleecker Street apartment. She turned down the sound on the TV and quickly walked towards the door. "Who is it?" she called out as she approached the door. "It's me Baby," her ex-husband and next door neighbor called out as he impatiently knocked again. "Hi," Tiffany said as she opened the door and he walked into her living room. "How's it going baby?" he asked as he walked to the sofa and took a seat. "Okay. I was going to get to bed early tonight Skeeter," she said pulling her nightshirt down as she walked towards the sofa. "Come here baby, we can talk a little while," he said patting the sofa cushion next to his. "Okay," she said taking a seat beside him. She hoped he wouldn't ask too many questions about her new job. He'd already let her know in no uncertain terms that he was suspicious of her relationship with her good-looking new boss. "How's the new job going?" he asked through narrowed eyes. "Okay. It's going okay Skeeter." "How's the pretty boy?" he asked referring to Jake. "Jake is fine," she said as a matter-of-fact. "Jake is fine," he said mockingly. "What's the matter Skeeter?" "I just don't like what I see. I don't know. I don't know who I don't trust here, you or Jake," he said raising his eyebrows. "Do you really care that much Skeeter?" "I'm your... your man," he said. "Not my husband. Not my boyfriend, my man." "That ain't enough for you?" he asked in a threatening voice. "No. Just curious Skeeter." "Can I trust you Tiffany?" "Yes," she said wondering for the first time if he could. "I'm going to a lingerie show in Atlanta," he said watching her closely. "Oh! Wow, almost home again," she said referring to their hometown in nearby Lillard, Georgia. "Yeah and I don't want to have to worry about you and pretty boy getting too chummy while I'm gone," he said as his eyes narrowed. "You don't have to worry," she lied. "Okay, good." "What are you going to do about Next to Nothing?" she asked referring to his risqué lingerie store on the ground floor. "Amanda can take care of it while I'm gone," he said referring to his gay sales clerk. "Good. That's great and Vinny can take care of your apartment," she said nodding her head towards his apartment next door. "He won't be here after tomorrow." "What? Is he moving out?" she asked hoping his Mafia roommate would soon be out of their lives. "No. He's just going to Florida." "Oh. I thought maybe he'd move out." "Nope." "Then I hope it's a good show in Atlanta. Are you going by Lillard while you're down that way?" "I might," he said. "When are you leaving?" "You in a hurry to see me go?" "No, Skeeter. Just curious." "Tomorrow morning. I have an early flight." "When will you be back?" "I don't know," he lied. "I'll call you and let you know later," he said as he got up to walk towards the front door. "You don't have any idea when you're coming back?" she asked as she followed him towards the door. "Why Tiffany? You want to have Jake over?" he asked as he approached the front door. "No." "Good. Then when I get back I better find you here alone," he said turning to leave. "I have my ways of knowing what you're up to Tiffany," he said turning to give her a final stern look. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
