Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday April 29th 2005 Tiffany glanced up when she heard the front door of the office open and Skeeter walked into the lobby. "Hey baby. I bet you're surprised to see me here," Skeeter said in his southern accent smiling broadly. "Yes, what are you doing here Skeeter?" Tiffany whispered as she glanced towards Jake's office door and was relieved to see it was still closed. "I called to talk to you and this woman answered the phone. I got to talkin' to her then she put your boss Jake on the phone. I told him all about my job modeling for that underwear billboard." "I wish you hadn't done that Skeeter," she said frowning. "Why not?" "Because it's my first day on the job." "I'm just dropping off my pictures for him," Skeeter said handing her an envelope containing his pictures. "I'll give it to him," she said taking the envelope from him. "Is he here?" "In his office," she whispered. "Is that the casting couch?" he asked nodding his head towards the sleek red sofa in the lobby. "I guess," she said as Jake's office door opened and he walked out into the lobby. "Hi there," Skeeter said extending his hand as Jake walked towards him. "Nice to meet you. I know you're Skeeter. You and Tiffany have the same accent," Jake said. "Yeah, she's my southern belle," Skeeter said turning to wink at Tiffany. He noticed she looked away to avoid his eyes. "I left a copy of my pictures with Tiffany." "Thank you Skeeter. I'll put it in my files. You mentioned on the phone that you have your own business too," Jake asked as he watched Skeeter walk to the sofa and take a seat. "Yeah, I have a lingerie store. Matter of fact my lingerie store "Next to Nothing," is in the same building where Tiffany and I live," he said leaning back on the sofa as if to test it. "Oh, I didn't know you and Tiffany live together," Jake said glancing towards Tiffany. "No, Skeeter and I live in the same building. We're neighbors," Tiffany said. "I see. That's convenient for an ex-married couple. I guess," Jake said. "It sure is. I can keep an eye on my wife that way," Skeeter said as he leaned back on the sofa. "Nice sofa," he muttered as he bounced slightly to test the sofa. "Would you like something to drink?" Jake asked. "No, I have to get back to the lingerie store. I left my sales clerk all alone there. I just wanted to see where Tiffany was working and meet her new boss," Skeeter said getting up from the sofa and starting towards the front door. "I'm glad you stopped by. I've met Tiffany's sister Starlene and now I've met her husband. That's great," Jake said. "Ex-husband," Tiffany said. "You sure are quick with the ex today," Skeeter said giving her a dirty look as he walked out the door. "See you later Skeeter," she said smiling as he waved and walked out into the hallway. "He seems very nice Tiffany," Jake said. "He can be. I'm sorry if he's pushing his pictures on you," she said nodding towards the folder with Skeeter's pictures. "I'm used to that. Everyone does it. Everyone wants to be a star." "Yeah, I guess so," Tiffany said as they watched Skeeter step onto the elevator. "You never know what might happen," Jake said as she glanced up to see him watching her.
