Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday April 28th 2005 The elevator in the Empire State Building stopped and Tiffany walked out onto the carpet as the elevator door closed behind her. She walked down the hallway towards the office. She glanced through the glass windows of the casting agency where she had just become employed. She saw her new boss Jake in the lobby talking to the same beautiful young woman that was coming in as she and Starlene had been leaving for lunch. She pushed open the door and they both looked up as she entered the office lobby. "You're back from lunch," Jake said smiling at Tiffany. "Yes. I hope I wasn't gone to long?" Tiffany asked taking a seat at her desk as she noticed the woman was watching her. "This is Nina," he said motioning towards the young woman. "We met in hallway as I come in today," Nina said in her broken English as she remembered their brief encounter. "Nice to meet you," Tiffany said. "I go now," Nina said picking up her large leather designer bag from the floor and standing up to leave. "I'm glad you stopped by. So you like the office?" Jake asked. "Is nice office. I like sofa. Very much," she said glancing at the sleek red sofa. "Thanks Nina. You did a good job picking it out for me," he said as he walked her to the door to leave. "I'll call you later," he said as she stopped and stood beside him. "Nice to meet you," she called out as she glanced at Tiffany. "You too," Tiffany said as she noticed Jake kissed the young woman on the cheek before she walked out into the hallway to wait for the elevator. "She's very beautiful," Tiffany said as she watched Nina step into a crowded elevator. "She'll be around often. This was her first trip to see my new office," Jake said. "Oh she's a friend of yours?" Tiffany asked. "Yes. She's a friend. Her English isn't too good," Jake said as he walked into his office and took a seat at his desk. "I understood everything she said," Tiffany said. "Great. I'll tell her. She's always worried when she meets new people." "She sounds like a nice person," Tiffany added. "She can be. Oh by the way, Nina answered the phone while you were at lunch," he said grinning broadly. "Oh, I should have thanked her." "You got a call from this man. Nina doesn't always understand English so well. She thought his name was Skeet," he said laughing. "Oh you mean Skeeter," Tiffany said her face reddening as she referred to her ex-husband. "Yes. He must be quite a character," Jake said smiling. "He can be." "He kept Nina on the phone for ten minutes. This guy Skeeter is he in sales?" Jake asked. "How did you know?" "I talked to him too. Nina wasn't sure she understood everything Skeeter was saying so she put me on the phone." "Oh I hope Skeeter wasn't any trouble," Tiffany said starting to worry about what Skeeter might have said to Jake. "No. He says he's modeled before. He said he did an underwear billboard that was in Times Square at one point," Jake said. "He told you all of that?" "Yes, he seems very nice. He should be here soon with his pictures," Jake said as he watched Tiffany's smile fade. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
