Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday April 20th 2005 Tiffany took a seat at the window of Trattoria Spaghetto on Bleecker Street. "Would you like something to drink?" the waiter asked as he watched her take a seat at her favorite table. "No, I'm expecting a friend," Tiffany said glancing out of the window to see if she could spot him. "I'll check back with you later," the waiter said smoothing down the corner of the white tablecloth as he walked towards the next table. Tiffany spotted Jake through the window in the distance. She noticed his boyish good looks as he stood at the curb nearby waiting for the light to change so that he could cross the street. Her heart raced when the light changed and he started across the street towards the restaurant. She quickly glanced down when his vision turned in her direction. She glanced up again as he was walking in the door of the restaurant looking towards her. She couldn't help but admire his broad smile and masculine lean body as he walked to her table. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting," he said as he pulled out the chair and took a seat across the table from her. "Oh no. I was here a few minutes early," she confessed. "This is really a cute little restaurant. I can see why you like it here," he said as he glanced around the small Italian restaurant. "It's very good food here too." "May I take your order?" the waiter asked as he stood before them with his order pad. "Why don't we have a bottle of wine, first?" Jake asked glancing at Tiffany. "Sure," she said as she watched the waiter hand him a wine list. "I think this will be nice," Jake said nodding towards the list before handing it to the waiter. "So thank you so much for meeting me tonight Tiffany," he said as the waiter walked away from the table. "Thanks for inviting me Jake." "So you're looking for a job?" "Yes." "What kind of work have you done in the past?" "I worked at a party planning business," she said. "Oh. What kind of parties?" "All kinds of parties. Mostly corporate parties," she said remembering her days at Manhattan Party Planning. "That sounds great Tiffany," he said smiling as the waiter walked back to the table with the bottle of wine. They watched as the waiter opened the wine and poured a small amount in the glass for Jake. Jake sipped the wine and nodded. The waiter filled the glasses then walked towards the table nearby to assist a young couple that was being seated. "To the future," Jake said as he lifted his glass towards Tiffany. She picked up her glass and quickly touched his glass before taking a short sip of the wine. "So, the party planning business. You'd be perfect in my company," he said. "Oh great," she said as her cell phone rang in her purse. "That's probably my sister. I hope you don't mind if I get this?" she asked. "No, go right ahead," he said picking up the menu to look it over. "Hello," she answered. "How's it going Tiffany?" Starlene asked. "Great. Did Stanley take care of the problem?" she asked referring to her eviction notice at her apartment. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
