Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 19th 2005 Tiffany sat at her vanity in her Bleecker Street apartment applying make-up as the phone rang. She put down her lipstick and picked up the phone. "Hello," she answered as she glanced at her reflection in the mirror. "Hi Tiffany. How did it go with the new guy across the hall? Stanley told me all about the new tenant. He said you might have a job, do you?" her sister Starlene asked as she leaned back on the sofa in her Upper East Side mansion. "No, I don't have a job," she said as she picked up her brush and started to brush her long blonde hair. "Well, what's this guy like? What happened? I've been dying to know." "He's really good looking Starlene." "Good. So does he have a job or not?" "I don't know. I'm having dinner with him tonight," Tiffany said. "Really? Gee, that's big news. Fast too," Starlene said her voice filled with excitement. "Yeah, I'm pleased. He's so good looking." "Wow, you like this guy don't you!" "Well, he's cute Starlene. I don't know what it is about him but I'm so attracted to him. I know this isn't right, but I'm very attracted." "Is he single?" "I have no idea. I don't know anything about him. I don't even know what kind of business he's in. I just know he's moving in across the hall and he's cute. He wants to talk to me about a job. So I'm meeting him for dinner." "Ohmygosh. This could be it," Starlene said almost breathless with excitement. "Calm down Starlene. It's nothing. I'm just meeting him for dinner." "Where are you meeting him?" "At a restaurant nearby. The Trattoria Spaghetto on Bleecker Street". "That's your favorite restaurant." "Yeah, he asked me where I usually go, and when I told him, he wanted to go there. So I'm meeting him there soon." "Well, it's all good news from you tonight." "Not really. I have this problem with the landlord. They sent painters by to do an estimate on my apartment. They said that I'm going to be evicted for having those roommates here," she said referring to the strippers that had just moved out. "I'll tell Stanley. He can help you with them," she offered. "That would be nice. Please ask him right away. The painters came by and took an estimate just a little while ago. I sure don't want to lose my apartment before I can get a job," she said. "I know. Try not to worry. Look if Stanley can help you out with this do you want me to call you tonight?" "Yeah, please do. I'll be with Jake at dinner, but I really do want to know." "Jake? Is that his name?" "Yeah," she said as if swooning. "I think this is going to be something," Starlene said giggling. "We better hope it's a job," Tiffany said. "I think you're hoping for a lot more!" "I don't know anything about him Starlene. We'll see. I do hope he has a job for me. That would be so great working across the hall from Stanley's office," she said referring to Starlene's older husband. "I'll keep my fingers crossed for Tiffany and Jake!" Starlene said. "Tiffany and Jake, that even sounds good, doesn't it Starlene?" CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
