Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 12th 2005
Tiffany walked up the stairs towards her Bleecker Street apartment.  As she approached the second floor she glanced up at her apartment door and saw a piece of paper taped to the door.  She picked up her step. As she approached the door she saw it was an envelope. She pulled the envelope off the door noticing the return address was Village Apartments Inc.  Her heart raced as she unlocked her door and walked inside. She closed the door and walked to the sofa.  She sat down and tore open the envelope. Her eyes quickly glanced over the document.  She quickly picked up the telephone and hit speed dial.
"Hello," her sister Starlene answered.
"My life is falling apart," Tiffany cried.
"What's the matter?"
"I think I'm being evicted because of Deanna and her friends," she said referring to her stripper roommate and her co-workers that were camping out in her apartment until they found their own place.
"No!" Starlene said.
"Yeah, this notice says that they have to move out or we'll all have to move out within 60 days."
"Didn't Victor find Deanna an apartment?" Starlene asked referring to the real estate agent that her older husband had fixed Tiffany up with hoping for a romance between them.
"I hope so.  She wanted Victor to try and get the rent lowered.  I'll have to talk to her when she comes home.  This is serious," Tiffany said.
"I'll tell Stanley."
"Okay thanks honey," Tiffany said hanging up the phone.  She walked into the kitchen to get a diet drink from the refrigerator.  She glanced at a note taped on the door of the refrigerator. She pulled it down and started to read.  "Tiffany, I'll be home early tonight.  I hope we can talk... Deanna."
"Good.  I hope you can move out fast," Tiffany said out loud as the front door opened. She walked to the doorway to see Deanna locking the front door.
"Hi Tiffany. I see you got my note," Deanna said.
"Yeah, we do need to talk."
"Yeah, I wanted you to know that I'm taking the apartment that Victor showed me.  I'm moving out today," she said.
"Today?"
"Yeah, aren't you glad?"
"Yeah, that's great!" Tiffany said. "What about the other dancers?"
"They've agreed to pay more rent when I leave."
"That won't work Deanna.  I had a note taped to the front door. I'm going to be evicted if
all of you don't move out."
"I can ask Victor if there are anymore apartments in the building I'm moving to. Maybe you could move there too."
"No, I don't want to move. I want Pinky and Roxy to move out too," she said referring to Deanna's co-workers that had crashed there after losing their lease.
"I don't know Tiffany.  They seem to like it here."
"They
have to leave.  That's all there is to it."
"They'll be here in a minute.  Just ask them yourself. I thought you would have been a little more upset to see me go," Deanna said walking towards her bedroom when the front door opened. The other two dancers walked in closing the door behind them.
"Hi girls.  Looks like we have trouble here," Deanna said.
"What now?  It's not the cops again, is it?" Pinky asked.
"No, it's Tiffany.  She's going to be evicted if all of us don't move out," Deanna said.
"Gee, that's too bad", Roxy said as she dropped her Go-Go bag on the floor.
"That's unless the two of you move out first," Tiffany said.
"Looks like trouble... cause neither one of us has money to move," Roxy said as they both stared at Tiffany.
