Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday March 29th 2005 Tiffany heard the knock on her bedroom door. She turned down the sound on her TV with the remote. "Yeah," she called out. "Skeeter's in the living room," Roxy her stripper roommate called out from the living room. "Tell him to come in here," Tiffany said. "Skeeter! She wants you dude!" Roxy screamed as she walked towards the kitchen. Tiffany heard a tap on her door before Skeeter opened it and walked inside. "Close the door please. Those strippers are so noisy," Tiffany said as she sat on the side of her bed. "How did it go today on your new job?" Skeeter asked as he took a seat beside her on the bed. "Oh it was okay," Tiffany said avoiding his eyes. "I called the office all afternoon and the answering service picked up the calls," Skeeter said. "Yeah, I had to go out of the office for a while. The service answers the phones a lot there," she said hoping this would end this line of questioning. She felt pangs of guilt all during lunch today with Victor. "That was nice of Stanley to let you fill in while his secretary has her baby." "Yeah, it really was nice of him. Of course the job is only temporary so I still have to look. He says he doesn't mind me going on interviews or whatever I want to do. There really isn't much work there. It's a great job." "Well, I hope she doesn't come back and you can work for the old man." "That would be great. I still have to have something permanent though. I want to throw these girls out of here," Tiffany said frowning and pointing towards the other end of the apartment where the strippers stayed. "Vinny doesn't hang around that much does he?" "No, he only comes over once in a while. The two other strippers sleeping in the living room is what drives me crazy. I just stay holed up in here all the time now," she said referring to her tiny bedroom. "I'm sorry Baby. We can have a little fun if you want?" he said leaning back on the bed and pulling her down beside him. "I wish you hadn't rented the bedroom to Deanna while I was in Georgia," she said referring to the first stripper that moved in with her. "Oh come on Baby. You know I didn't think it would be any trouble. I never knew she'd move in her co-workers." "I wish I could just run away." "Want to run over to my place tonight?" he asked nodding towards his apartment next door. "No, I have to get up early in the morning for work." "I'll carry your clothes for you." "No. I'm tired." "Then I'll stay here," he said brushing her long blonde hair from her face. "Well, I guess that's okay." "I certainly hope so." "So, let's give these strippers something to talk about Baby," he said starting to unbutton her jeans. "I don't think we could possibly shock those girls." "Then let me give you something to talk about Baby," he said starting to pull her closer when her phone rang. She sat up on the bed and reached for the ringing phone. "Hello" she answered. "Tiffany. I enjoyed our lunch together today," Victor said. "Oh yeah... me too," Tiffany said in a hushed voice as she turned her head so Skeeter wouldn't see her eyes. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
