Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday March 24th 2005
"How about it Tiffany? Why don't we have lunch at Tavern on the Green today?' Victor said as he watched her close the folders on her desk.
"That's very nice but I better stay here today. It's my first day on the job," she said.
"Stanley said it was fine for you to leave," he said referring to his telephone conversation with her boss only minutes ago.
"I know. But it's my first day. I think I better get myself acquainted with the work," she said.
"I'm disappointed," he said as the glass door opened and Starlene walked in.
"Hi Tiffany," Starlene said.
"Hi Starlene," Tiffany said smiling. "This is Victor," she said waving her hand towards Stanley's appointment that was waiting in the lobby.
"I know. Hi Victor, it's nice to see you again," she said as he came to his feet and walked towards her.
"It's nice to see you too Mrs. Morgan," he said as they shook hands.
"I just stopped by to get my sister to go to lunch with me," Starlene said glancing towards Tiffany.
"I know. You beat me to it. I wanted to take Tiffany to Tavern on the Green for lunch," he said.
"Oh then go with Victor," Starlene said glancing towards Tiffany.
"I don't know," Tiffany hesitated.
"Go Tiffany. I'll stay here and answer the phone," Starlene said motioning for her sister to get up out of her chair.
"I don't know," Tiffany said as she got up from her chair.
"Go Tiffany," Starlene whispered.
"I don't know," Tiffany whispered back.
"I'll run down and get my driver to bring the car around. I'll be downstairs in the white limo in front of the building," Victor said.
"Okay," Tiffany said nodding towards him as he walked out into the hallway and hit the button for the elevator.
"Good! You're going to lunch with Victor," Starlene said smiling broadly.
"I don't really want to," Tiffany said.
"Tiffany, it's all been arranged. Stanley wants you to go to lunch with Victor. Victor is single and wealthy," Starlene said.
"Stanley arranged this?"
"Yeah, he told me he called Victor and told him to stop by his office this morning," Starlene said laughing.
"So did Stanley tell you to come over and watch the office too?" Tiffany said shocked at the secret activities.
"No, he didn't arrange that one, he thinks you'll call the answering service when you leave. I came over to snoop through Stanley's papers while you're gone," Starlene said taking a seat at the desk and picking up papers to examine.
"Oh that's horrible Starlene. I can't let you do that," Tiffany said.
"You can't? I think you have to. Now go Tiffany," Starlene said pointing towards the front door.
"But Stanley might be angry if he knew you were looking through his files while I was gone," Tiffany said.
"He'll never know. This is perfect. I'll find out why Stanley is putting his properties into Jan's name and you won't have to snoop. I know you didn't really want to," she said opening the desk drawer and pulling out folders.
