Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday March 3rd 2005 Skeeter leaned back on the red velvet sofa in his lingerie store "Next to Nothing". He could see out of the corner of his eyes that Tiffany was watching him closely as she sat beside him. "Skeeter. I asked you a question." "Yeah Baby, I know," he said avoiding her eyes. "Well, since you rented my spare bedroom to a stripper while I was out of town and your Mafia roommate has moved in with her, why don't I move in with you?" she repeated. "I don't know Baby," he hedged. "Know what?" "I don't know if that would work out." "Why not Skeeter? We were married once. You know exactly what it would be like," she said remembering their life in Georgia years ago. "That's what I mean Tiffany. We're divorced now. I don't know if it's a good idea for the two of us to live together again." "What are you saying Skeeter? Are you saying that you don't ever plan to marry me again?" "Well, never is a long time Baby." "Yeah and I don't want to wait forever either," she said starting to lose patience with him. "Come on Tiffany. We've been doing so good like it is." "Yeah, me living right next door and you letting your roommate take over my life. I can't live like this anymore Skeeter," she said jumping up from the sofa and starting to pace the floor of his lingerie store. "Oh come on. Settle down Tiffany." "That's exactly what I want. I want us to settle down. I thought you loved me Skeeter." "I do." "So if you do then I thought we were going to get married again one day." "Well, maybe." "Skeeter I haven't been dating anyone but you for years now. I don't want to waste my time." "I don't see how you could consider being with me a waste of time." "You married Jan since you moved to New York. I have never married. I want to get married again. I don't want to live single like this forever." "There you go with that forever word again." "Well, I want some kind of commitment from you Skeeter Diamond." "Or?" "Or I am planning to start seeing other men." "Like that foreign guy you were dating before. Amir?" "Maybe," she said wondering if Amir would ever come back to New York City and leave his island off the coast of Tonga. "I don't like a woman threatening me like this." "I'm not threatening, I'm trying to explain this to you." "What do you want me to do?" "Give me an answer. I can either move in with you or start dating other people. It's that simple," she said stopping to stare at him. "Let me talk to Vinny," he said hoping to buy himself a little time. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
