Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday March 1st 2005 "I'll pay for dinner," Starlene said grabbing the check as the waitress placed it on the table of the restaurant where the two sisters were dining. "Thanks Starlene. Next time I'll be working and I'll pay," Tiffany said finishing the last of her Chinese food. "Do you think any of the interviews went that well today?" Starlene asked. "I don't know. I did the best I could. I mean I don't have any experience in a doctor's office, so I don't know." "Maybe Clark will come back and you can get your old job back." "I don't know. He has been at his parents' ever since he and Nicole separated. He still has the townhouse but he rarely comes to town," she said. "Wow," Starlene said. "What?" "I have an idea!" "What?" "Call Clark and ask him if you can rent his townhouse while he's away." "What good would that do? I don't have the money to pay rent and he might come back and use it again." "Yeah, I guess you're right. Well how bad can it get?" "It's already pretty bad Starlene. I mean the other night Vinny and Deanna kept me up all night banging her bed into my bedroom wall." "I'm still jealous of him," Starlene said referring to her brief romance with the Mafia guy. "Oh come on Starlene!" "I can't help it. Vinny and I never... you know. We never went all the way. I wish now that we had, especially now that I know what he must be like," she said dreamy eyed. "Oh it just makes me sick. Both of them make me sick." "I don't know what to tell you to do Tiffany." "I'll get a job and throw them out. That's what I'll have to do." "What if they won't leave?" "I'll throw them both out." "I wonder why Vinny wants to live with you and Deanna anyway?" "Because he's so jealous of her he wants to be around her all the time." "He wasn't like that with me..." Starlene said pouting. "You weren't a stripper either." "He must really like her." "I think so. He seems to like her a lot," Tiffany said raising her eyebrows. "I just don't understand that. I mean what has that girl got that makes him like her so much?" "Big girls Starlene. That's what she's got," Tiffany said referring to Deanna's implants. "Look at the time. I better get home. Stanley is coming home early today," Starlene said putting her credit card on the table for the waitress. "Well, I've enjoyed getting out of the apartment for a change. It was better to at least be looking for a job than being at home worrying about Deanna and Vinny." "Look," Starlene said in a hushed voice. "What?" Tiffany asked glancing in the direction her sister was nodding. "There's Skeeter over there," Starlene said glancing at the cash register at the front of the restaurant. "What would Skeeter be doing here?" Tiffany asked watching as a waitress put two Styrofoam dinner containers into a plastic bag. "He's getting two take outs," Starlene said. "He lives alone. Who could the other dinner be for?" Tiffany asked as they watched him pay for the dinners and walk towards the front door to leave. "Let's go," Tiffany said grabbing her purse. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
