Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday February 14th 2005 "Hi Tiffany," Skeeter said as his ex-wife and neighbor opened the door to her apartment for him. "Hi Skeeter," she said never smiling or moving aside to invite him inside. "Well, aren't you going to ask me in Baby?" he said eyeing her bare legs in the long T-shirt she was wearing. "I don't know Skeeter," she said bitterly. "I came with Valentine chocolates," he said taking his hand from behind his back to reveal a box of Whitman's sampler chocolates in a red heart shaped box. "Thanks, but I'm on a diet," she said taking the chocolates and putting them on the table beside the door. "I like you just the way you are Baby," he said touching her shoulder as she turned her back to him. "Well, I don't know if I like you Skeeter," she said turning around and looking at him with a cold stare. "This ain't very neighborly of you Tiffany after I bought you candy. It's Valentine's Day," he said as she closed the door. They walked into the living room and took a seat together on her sofa. "Well, Happy Valentine's Day to you Skeeter. How many valentines do you have now?" she asked bitterly as she edged slightly away from him on the sofa. "Just you Baby," he said watching her closely. "That's not what I heard today Skeeter." "Oh really. Well why don't you tell me what you heard today Tiffany and why you're so mean," he said as his eyes narrowed. "Starlene went to Jan's house for lunch the other day," she said arching her eyebrows as if to say 'I bet you know what's coming next Skeeter.'" "So Starlene went to lunch with Jan. Big deal Tiffany, she's married to Jan's old man," he said leaning back on the sofa and glaring at her. "No, they didn't have lunch. Starlene went there and Jan called and said she had been 'delayed' and couldn't make it. Jan's housekeeper Ilona had made lunch for them." "So what?" he said shaking his head. "So Ilona and Starlene got to talkin'," she said in her southern accent. "Then Starlene said that Jan told Ilona that she 'hoped the two of you would get back together again,'" Tiffany said her voice filled with anger. "Oh so that's it. That's what you're so PO'ed about today," he said leaning back on the sofa as if suddenly relieved. "So what? So you're seeing Jan again." "No, Tiffany. I'm not seeing Jan again." "I think you are." "Well, I'm not." "Well, why would she say that Skeeter if it wasn't true?" "Because Jan's mean, Tiffany." She was poised to come back at him with a negative remark when she stopped herself short. "You're right," she said as her shoulders relaxed. "Yeah, Jan's just probably trying to make trouble or something. Why would I ever want to go back with Jan," he said sliding his arm on the back of the sofa. "Well, I guess you're right. She is that mean," she said as if thinking aloud. "So now that you admit you wrongly accused me, don't you want to make up?" he said nodding his head towards her bedroom and grinning. "You wouldn't ever go back to Jan?" "Not for love or money," he said reaching to pull her towards him. "I believe you about the 'not for love' Skeeter. But would you go back to her for money?" she asked thinking about the properties that Jan's father Stanley had been recently transferring into Jan's name. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
