Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday January 27th 2005
Tiffany heard a knock and quickly got up and walked towards her front door. She opened the door to see her husband's Mafia roommate Vinny standing in the doorway.
"Hi Vinny," she said smiling.
"You called the cops didn't you?"
"Yes I did Vinny," she said starting to worry when she saw the angry expression on his face.
"I thought I told you not to do that," he said in his thick Brooklyn accent.
"Vinny I had to. Deanna has been gone for weeks and there's all that money in her bedroom."
"I could handle this," he said.
"Well where is Deanna then?"
"I don't know. It don't matter. She called you on the phone several times so you know she's alive," he said angrily. "Look Tiffany, I told you not to call the cops. You're always disobeying me."
"I'm not a child Vinny."
"No but you ain't acting like an adult either. Now the cops are all over the place. It ain't nothing but aggravation for me."
"If you weren't doing anything wrong it wouldn't bother you."
"You got a smart mouth on you Tiffany. I don't like that. I don't like much of anything about you. I want you to keep your mouth shut about me. Do you hear me?" he said stepping towards her.
"Are you threatening me Vinny?"
"I'm telling you the facts. You take it anyway you want, but you butt out of my business and don't be bringin' up my name," he said quickly turning and walking down the stairs.
Tiffany closed the front door and walked to the sofa and took a seat. She could feel hot tears in her eyes when she heard another knock on her door. She got up and walked towards the door. This time she looked through the peephole to be sure it wasn't Vinny. She saw her ex-husband Skeeter and quickly opened the door.
"Hey baby," he said.
"Hi Skeeter," she said wiping tears from her cheek.
"What's the matter Tiffany?" he said as he walked in and closed the front door. He followed her into the living room where they both took a seat on the sofa.
"Vinny just knocked on the door and threatened me."
"Oh he didn't mean anything. He's just upset over Deanna."
"I don't know about that. I think he'd like to kill me."
"He won't hurt you Tiffany, but that wasn't very cool of you to call the cops like that."
"Oh so you're upset with me too," she said.
"Well, yeah. The cops acted like I had something to do with Deanna turning up missing. Did you tell them I had anything to do with it?"
"Of course not."
"Well they seemed to think I knew more than I do. It made it uncomfortable for me around Vinny after they left."
"You mean you and Vinny aren't getting along?"
"Well, he questioned me when they left. He wanted to know if I have been seeing Deanna on the sly."
"Have you Skeeter?"
