Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday January 7th 2005 "Unavailable," Starlene announced as she looked at the caller ID on Tiffany's coffee table. Tiffany's missing roommate Deanna had just called and had to hang up in a hurry. "I knew it. Now I'll never know where she was when she called," Tiffany said as she took a seat on the sofa. "Come on Tiffany. She told you she had the money. Let's go see how much she has," Starlene said. "No. I don't want to have anything to do with that money," Tiffany said as Starlene ignored her and walked into Deanna's bedroom. "What are you doing Starlene?" Tiffany asked turning to watch her sister. "Getting the box down," she said as she opened Deanna's closet door. "I don't think you should," Tiffany called out. "Wow!" Starlene said. "Oh, okay," Tiffany said jumping up from the sofa and rushing into the bedroom. "Look," Starlene said sitting down on Deanna's bed with a shoebox full of cash. "Oh my! Look at all that money!" Tiffany said as her eyes widened. "Want to count it?" Starlene asked. "No! I told you before I don't want our fingerprints on it Starlene," Tiffany said annoyed that she had told her sister this repeatedly. "Well, how are we going to know how much is in here?" "I guess we'll never know," Tiffany said. "Give me that eyebrow brush over there," Starlene said nodding towards Deanna's dresser. Tiffany got up and walked to the make-up box and picked up the brush. She handed it to her sister. Starlene took the handle end of the brush and picked up the folded money to look at what was under it. Both women sat on the bed their heads almost hitting each other as they stared down into the shoebox as the handle of the eyebrow brush picked up stacks of money. "Looks like all hundreds Tiffany," Starlene said. "Yeah. I wonder how many?" Tiffany said as Starlene lifted the edge of another stack of money with the end of the brush. "Wow, it's thousands of dollars Tiffany," Starlene said. "Yeah, it sure is." "Look I see some one thousand dollar bills on the bottom," Starlene said. "Oh this makes me so nervous. What if somebody breaks into the apartment and steals it," Tiffany said. "I know. That would be a real shame. Do you know how much fun we could have on Fifth Avenue with this?" Starlene said. "Well, we're not going to Fifth Avenue with it," Tiffany said. Starlene's cell phone in her jeans pocket rang and she jumped almost spilling the money on the floor. "Don't spill it Starlene! Put it back," Tiffany said as her sister walked to the closet and placed the box in the top. She reached into the pocket of her tight jeans and took out her tiny cell phone. "Hello," she said. "Hello honey," Stanley said. "Hi Stan. What's going on honey?" she asked. "I had to fly to Georgetown. I'll be home tomorrow. I thought maybe you would want to spend the night with your sister," he said. "You're in Georgetown again Stanley?" she asked as she frowned and glanced towards Tiffany. "Yeah, I didn't have time to call. Something just came up. I have to go into a meeting now. I'll call you later honey," he said hanging up the phone. "Well, I'll be!" Starlene said. "What's wrong?" "I don't know which mystery is the hardest to figure out, Deanna's money or my Stanley's sudden interest in Washington DC." CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
