Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday November 29th 2004 "See you later Vinny honey," Deanna said patting the masculine Mafia guy on the rear. They stood in the doorway of Tiffany's apartment saying goodbye after an evening together. "You ain't workin' tonight are you?" Vinny asked in his thick Brooklyn accent. "Don't know yet honey. If I do would you like to come watch me dance?" Deanna said referring to her job at a topless club. "I don't know if I could stand to watch other men looking at you Deanna. I want you to think about what I said," he said sternly as he nodded his head at her. "I will. Bye now," she said closing the door and walking back into the living room where Tiffany was seated. "That Vinny is really so funny," Deanna said as she took a seat in the chair near Tiffany. "Funny? Why do you think Vinny is funny?" Tiffany asked thinking that nothing about a man in the Mafia seemed too funny to her. "He wants me to quit my job," she said leaning back in the chair. "Oh. Well what does he think you should do for a living?" Tiffany said wondering if Vinny had some other illegal ideas for Deanna's profession. "He wants to support me," she said laughing. "Gee, that's kinda nice of him. He must really like you a lot," Tiffany said thinking about the nights Vinny had spent in her apartment with her new roommate. "Yeah, he's getting kinda serious. I told him not to." "Why not? I mean wouldn't it be nice to quit that job and turn your life around?" "No. I don't think so. I can't imagine me settling down with one man," Deanna said putting her feet up on the coffee table. Her robe fell open in the front revealing her bare body which she ignored completely. "Deanna do you have a lot of boyfriends?" "No. Vinny is the only guy I'm seeing now. I usually have just one lover at a time. Why? Why do you ask?" "You just seem so... uninhibited," Tiffany said as her eyes fell on the open robe. Deanna quickly pulled the robe closed and smiled. "Oh we all got the same thing. I don't think people should make a big deal about it." "But I mean. Don't you feel embarrassed when people see you without your clothes on?" "No. Do you?" "Well, yes. I would simply die if I had to take off my blouse or something." "Boy I'm glad I don't have that phobia." "Phobia? So you think that's a phobia?" "Kinda. I mean what's there to be so ashamed of Tiffany?" "I don't know." "It's just never bothered me." "You remember the first time I asked you what kind of dancing you do and you pulled up your blouse and showed me your 'girls'?" Tiffany asked feeling her face redden when she remembered the sight. "Yeah. I knew you were shocked. I do have a confession. Sometimes I enjoy shocking people like that," she said laughing. "Did you shock Skeeter that way?" Tiffany asked referring to her ex-husband and lover that had rented Deanna the bedroom while she was out of town. "No. I didn't shock him like that," she said smiling. "Did you shock him?" Tiffany asked as her heart raced thinking she might soon find out what happened between the two while she was out of town. "Yeah, he seemed pretty shocked." CONTINUED TOMORROW.
