Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday November 24th 2004 Tiffany picked up the ringing telephone. "Hello," she answered as she continued to look through the help wanted advertisements in the New York Times. "Hi Tiffany," Starlene said. "Oh hi Starlene. How did it go with Stanley?" "I think we're made up," she said hesitantly. "You don't sound so certain," Tiffany said as she placed the newspaper on the coffee table. "I hope so. Jan was here when I came home and I overheard her talking to Stanley about everything." "Oh great," Tiffany said her voice filled with disgust. "Yeah, she talked him into going to this Park Avenue Society cocktail hour tomorrow afternoon." "So what difference does that make?" "Lola is going to be there," she said referring to her new husband's old flame. "Oh! So she wants him to get even with you for being alone with Vinny." "I guess so. I think she actually wants more than that. I think she wants him to leave me for Lola," Starlene said leaning back on the plush sofa of Stanley's Upper East Side mansion. "That's Jan for you. Always causing trouble. Nothing has changed with her." "Yeah, and he wants me to try and get along with her. He doesn't know I overheard every word." "Oh really?" "Yeah. We made up and went upstairs and consummated our marriage again. Just like nothing had happened." "Really?" "Yeap. I didn't want him to know that I heard the plan." "So let me guess. You're going to the cocktail hour?" "Aren't you smart Tiffany," Starlene said laughing. "What if he goes and he's with Lola?" "Then he's in big trouble. Big trouble," Starlene said. "Would you divorce him for that?"' "I don't guess I would divorce him. I don't know. I do know it would show me I can't trust him though." "Starlene I don't know if these games are good for a new marriage." "I have to know Tiffany." "Yeah. I guess so," Tiffany admitted. "Well, what's going on over there with Vinny and your roommate the stripper Deanna?" "I have the apartment alone. Deanna is working and I haven't talked to Vinny anymore," Tiffany said. "What do you think? Do you think Deanna will be Vinny's girlfriend now?" "I don't know Starlene. This is all way too much for me. If I had enough money I think I'd move away." "Maybe she'll leave." "I don't think so. Not unless I throw her out." "Are you going to?" "As soon as I find a job, she's out of here." "I wonder if Vinny is going to stay next door at Skeeter's?" "Why wouldn't he Starlene. He's close to Double D Deanna and I don't even think Skeeter is charging him rent," Tiffany said. "Man that's a lot of reason for him to stay. You know something Tiffany?" "What's that?" "It does bother me to think of Vinny and Deanna getting it on. You know I'm jealous of Vinny even though I'm married to Stanley now." "I can understand that. I worry about her being around Skeeter too," she said referring to her ex-husband and next door neighbor. I wonder what she and Skeeter did alone in the apartment when he first interviewed her while I was out of town?" Tiffany said. "Yeah. I can see how that would bother you," Starlene said thinking about what Vinny had told her about Skeeter and Deanna. "Did Vinny say anything about that to you?" Tiffany asked. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
