Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday November 23rd 2004 "I'll see you later Father," Jan said as she grabbed her purse from the table in his Upper East Side mansion. "Thanks for your encouragement Jan," he said referring to his unhappiness over walking into Tiffany's apartment and finding his new bride Starlene alone with Mafia Vinny. "I'll see you tomorrow night at the Park Avenue Society cocktail hour. Okay?" Jan said. "I don't know," Stanley hesitated. "Be there. I know Lola will be just dying to see you. I'll call her tonight and tell her you're coming. I can't let her down. So will you be there?" Jan asked as she stood in the doorway to Stanley's office. "Yeah, I'll be there," Stanley said. "Good. I can't wait to see the two of you together again," Jan said. "I just said I'd go to have cocktails. That's all," Stanley said thinking about Lola and their love affair many years ago. "That's all you have to do Father is be there. Lola knows how to handle everything else," Jan said. "See you there," she said waving as she walked out of the room. She walked into the living room towards the front door. She opened the door and walked out closing it behind her. Starlene tiptoed out of the adjacent room where she had been eavesdropping. "Hi Stanley," she said walking into his office. "Starlene!" he said surprised that she was home. "I got a cab home," she said. "I couldn't stay there. I was too upset," he said referring to Mafia Vinny being in Tiffany's apartment alone with her. "It wasn't anything Stanley. I wish you had given me time to explain." "I can't be around that guy. He wants so much to hit me." "I don't think he'd hit you Stanley." "Are you defending him now?" "No." "When did you come in Starlene? Jan was just here." "Gee, I'm glad I missed her," she said hoping to avoid telling him that she'd overheard the entire conversation. "That's another thing Starlene," he said as his jaw tightened. "What?" "We have to work on the relationship between you and Jan if we are to stay married." "If? If? If we are to stay married?" she said putting her hands on her shapely hips. "You know what I mean." "No I don't. I have no intentions of leaving you Stanley. I'm married to you. I went to Tiffany's because she asked me to come over. She was worried about leaving her apartment with her new roommate. Vinny was just there. Deanna left and he came out of the bedroom. He was in his underwear because they had been doing it. Not because I had been doing it with him. I only kissed his cheek when he said he respected me. Why can't you understand that?" she said as she stared at him. "Is that the truth Starlene?" he asked. "Yes honey. That's the truth. I love you Stanley. I would never do anything wrong," she said. "I'm glad to hear that honey," he said as he admired her voluptuous bosom in the low cut sweater she was wearing. "So is our marriage still iffy?" she asked walking closer to him. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
