Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday November 2nd 2004 "Hi Starlene," Tiffany said as her sister took a seat at the restaurant in the Village. "Hi. What's up? Why was it so important we meet tonight?" Starlene said as she unfolded her napkin and put it on her lap. "I lied and didn't want to get caught," Tiffany said. "Who did you lie to?" "Deanna, my new roommate," Tiffany said. "I thought you said she was going out with a professor from NYU." "He canceled. She came back to the apartment and asked me out to dinner. I lied and told her that you had asked me to have dinner with you." "Oh that's okay. Stanley had a meeting tonight anyway," Starlene said as the waiter came to the table to take their order. "I'll have the Sole Almondine," Starlene said. "Make it two," Tiffany said noticing it was the evening special and the price was within her budget after losing her job. "How's married life going?" Tiffany asked. "Great. I just love it Tiffany." "I guess Stanley is happy too?" "Yeah, he seems really happy. The only thing is that we've got to face Jan next," she said referring to Stanley's older, only daughter. "Oh! When does that happen?" "Soon, he wants me to invite her over for dinner." "Surely she already knows the two of you are married," Tiffany said. "Yeah, but we've got to kinda smooth it over with her." "Good luck. I know how awful Jan can be." "Well, tell me about Deanna. How's the new roommate?" "I feel horrible about her Starlene," Tiffany said shaking her head. "Why?" "She says she's was raised in foster homes." "Oh. That really is rough." "Yeah, she says that she doesn't have anyone to fall back on and that's why she dances." "She could have been a secretary like you." "Yeah, but when I think about it like that I almost can't blame her for dancing," Tiffany said thinking about her job at Manhattan Party Planning. "Did you ask her more about the dancing? Like where she's dancing?" "No, I couldn't because Skeeter was there." "What difference does that make?" "If she is a stripper I don't want Skeeter knowing where she works. I don't want him going there and seeing her... like that" she said shaking her head as she thought about Deanna's very large bosom. "This is a terrible situation Tiffany. I mean Skeeter does like to look and she's right next door." "I know. I'm having a hard time believing that he doesn't know more than he's letting on. He did interview her for the apartment. I don't know if I can trust him or not." "He does have a bad record," Starlene said thinking about all of her ex-brother-laws past womanizing. "So you think I should be worried about Skeeter and Deanna?" "Well, I wouldn't leave the two of them alone together Tiffany. If she is a stripper then you have to wonder if she's a lady-of-the-evening too." "Well, how am I going to find out? Should I make her leave?" Tiffany asked. "Is she home alone tonight?" Starlene asked. "She was there when I left." "After dinner I could go over to your apartment and tell her that you went uptown to visit a friend," Starlene suggested. "And then what?" "I could find out if she's a lady-of-the-evening for you." CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
