Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday October 22nd 2004 "Hey Skeeter," Vinny said as he walked into Skeeter's lingerie store on Bleecker Street. "Hey man," Skeeter said grinning as his new roommate took a seat in a chair nearby where Skeeter was unpacking boxes of thongs. "I just thought I'd stop by before I go to my meeting in Little Italy," Vinny said referring to his Mafia business. "I got a call from Tiffany this morning," Skeeter said tossing the thongs on the counter and taking a seat near Vinny. "Yeah, what did she say?" Vinny asked. "She said they're coming home today," Skeeter said. "What did she say about Starlene and Stanley?" Vinny asked referring to Starlene's new husband. "She says Stanley can't take it anymore. He tried hard to get along with the parents but they don't like him." "That's good news. I hope that will make Starlene leave him," Vinny said hoping he'd win her back somehow. "Don't count on it. I think Starlene is furious with her folks for not welcoming him into the family." "Well, what did they do that made Stanley so uncomfortable? Not that I care," Vinny said shrugging his shoulders. "The folks gave them this party. The only problem is they didn't invite many people. The only guests were the preacher and Starlene's old boyfriend that drives a Pepsi truck in Georgia. Stanley was squirming the whole night," Skeeter said grinning. "Good. I'm glad to hear it. Maybe they'll get divorced and she'll marry me," Vinny said. "That is if she isn't pregnant," he added thoughtfully. "That remark that Tiffany made to you on the phone is really bothering me," Vinny admitted. "We'll know soon. They'll be here soon. I guess we'll find out everything then." "I guess you hope Tiffany's doesn't find out about that dancer you had in her apartment last night," Vinny asked. "I'm not worried," Skeeter said as the front door opened and Tiffany entered. She dropped her suitcase beside the front door. "Hi Skeeter," she said smiling broadly as she walked towards the back of the store where the two men were seated. "Hey Baby," Skeeter said getting up and walking towards her. "Hi Vinny," she said waving. "Hi Tiffany. How was the trip?" Vinny asked. "It was okay for me, but not so great for Starlene and Stanley," she said referring to the newlyweds. "So the family didn't like Stanley?" Skeeter asked as he kissed her on the cheek. "No. They didn't like him and he didn't like them," Tiffany said. "Any chance they'll get a divorce?" Vinny asked. "No. Starlene's in it for the long haul," Tiffany said. "Is she pregnant?" Vinny asked. "I don't know. I don't think she knows yet," Tiffany said. "Whew. I hope not," Vinny said. "Skeeter I see my advertisement for a roommate that was in the front window of your store is gone," Tiffany said nodding towards the front window of the lingerie store. "Yeah, it's gone," Skeeter said bracing for her reaction to the news. "Why?" "I rented Starlene's bedroom for you Baby," he said hopefully. "I told you not to do that Skeeter! I told you just to take the applications and show the apartment," she said angrily putting her hands on her hips and staring at her ex-husband. "Well, this girl seemed right and she couldn't wait for you to get back for the answer." "Is she nice?" Tiffany asked. "Yeah. She's nice," Skeeter said thinking about the girl that had danced for him last night in Tiffany's apartment. "Did you get first and last month's rent?" "Yeap," he said hopefully. "What kind of work does she do?" Tiffany asked. "She's a dancer," Skeeter said as Vinny grinned broadly. "What kind of dancer?" Tiffany asked noticing Vinny's reaction. "Club dancing." "Club dancing?" Tiffany asked as the front door opened and Starlene walked into the lingerie store. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
