Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday October 20th 2004 "Tiffany is Starlene pregnant?" Skeeter asked clutching the telephone closer to his ear. "Skeeter I don't know." "Well, I thought women shared these kinds of things with each other," Skeeter said as Vinny got up from his chair and started to pace the floor of Skeeter's lingerie shop on Bleecker Street. "I did ask her and she said she wasn't sure," Tiffany admitted. "Man, if Starlene is pregnant then this is blockbuster," Skeeter said as he watched Vinny shake his head. "We'll see. She's married now so if she is that's fine. I'd love it," Tiffany said. "Well what else is going on down there in Georgia," Skeeter asked. "The folks all asked about you Skeeter. They were very interested in the fact that you divorced Jan," she said referring to Stanley's daughter and Skeeter's ex-wife. "I bet." "They also were really pleased that you and I were living next door to each other." "Good. I'm glad they're happy that you and I are neighbors." "They wanted to know if you and I were back together again," Tiffany said. "What did you tell them?" "I told them that we were seeing each other and that things were going good." "Oh really?" "Yeah. They want us to remarry. They really like you Skeeter. They wanted to know why you didn't come down with us." "And what did you tell them?" "That you have your own lingerie store 'Next To Nothing'. You stayed in New York to help rent Starlene's bedroom for me since I lost my job." "Yeah," he said thinking about the good-looking women he'd shown the apartment. "How's that going Skeeter? Have you shown the apartment to anyone?" "Yeah a few girls." "Do any of them seem nice?" "Yeah a couple," he said thinking about the dancer that he'd really liked a lot. "Well, do you think there are any that I might want for a roommate?" "A couple Baby. There are more coming by this afternoon." "I told Mamma about renting Starlene's room out and she said she thought I should save it for us and the family we might start one day," Tiffany said hopefully. "Mmmm." "Do you think I should just forget renting the room?" "That's up to you. I mean I'm interviewing women." "I mean do you think we'll ever get married again Skeeter?" she said starting to lose patience with him. "I don't know about all that Baby. Let's don't push it." "Okay. I knew you'd say that. I don't know why my parents think you're such a good catch." "They're smart folks Tiffany," he said as he glanced up and saw the dancer walking into his lingerie store. "I miss you Skeeter," Tiffany said. "Yeah, me too Baby. Look I gotta go. Some wealthy old man that buys a lot of lingerie just pulled up in his limo," he lied. The pretty, young dancer walked towards Vinny and him into the back of the store. "Okay. Talk to you later Skeeter," she said hanging up the phone. "Hey Baby," Skeeter said admiring the dancer as she came closer to him. "Hi Skeeter. Who's this? Your business partner?" she asked referring to Vinny. "No this is my roommate Vinny," Skeeter said as he watched Vinny admiring her great figure when she took off her jacket. "Hi Vinny," she said smiling. "Hi," he said admiring her shapely legs in the short skirt she was wearing. "Are you ready to close the store Skeeter?" she asked grinning. "Yeah Baby. I'm ready," Skeeter said glancing at his watch. "Let's finish the interview upstairs in the apartment," she said as she pushed her ample bosom into Skeeter's arm. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
