Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday October 8th 2004 "So how was Jan?" Tiffany asked referring to Skeeter's second ex-wife that he'd recently divorced. "Look Baby, I told you she just stopped by my store to see where her old man was," he said referring to Jan's father Stanley. He leaned back on the sofa in her apartment on Bleecker Street. "Does she want to see you again?" Tiffany asked as she sat beside him and eyed him suspiciously. "No, she's just worried that Stanley will marry Starlene." "I did hope they would get married but now I don't know," she said. "Why?" "Well, I'm laid off from my job. Starlene has been helping me with the rent. If she moves out what will I do?" "Oh. I didn't think about that," he said. "Yeah, Stanley has always given her money to help with the rent and whatever she wants. If they're married she'll be living with him and I won't have any help." "Man. I guess that does hurt." "Are you sure you didn't tell Vinny where Starlene went?" "Yes Tiffany," he lied. He reached for his beer on the coffee table when they heard the front door of the apartment open. "Hey Tiffany and Skeeter," Starlene said as she closed the door and walked into the living room. "Starlene!" Tiffany said jumping up from the sofa and rushing towards her sister. The two women embraced as Skeeter watched from the sofa. "Come on and tell us what happened," Tiffany said as Starlene walked to a nearby chair and took a seat. "Well, guess what?" Starlene asked smiling broadly. "What?" they asked in unison. "I'm Mrs. Starlene Morgan now," she said holding up her hand and waving the wedding band at them. "Oh! I can't believe it!" Tiffany said beaming as she watched her sister. "So he finally did it?" Skeeter asked referring to Stanley. "Yeah. He finally married me! It wasn't exactly like I had planned for it to be all my life, but I'm married," she said leaning back in the chair. "Where did you get married?" "In a Vegas wedding chapel." "How did it go?" Tiffany asked. "Well, he wanted to check into the hotel first then get married. It took a lot of talking but I convinced him it would be better to get married first then check in," she said. "So you did?" Skeeter asked. "Yeah, then we went back to the hotel after the wedding. It was a good thing that I did that," she said frowning. "Why?" Skeeter asked. "Because there were some men that came to the hotel to 'talk' to Stanley. They said Vinny had sent them," she said. "Oh no!" Tiffany said shooting a suspicious look in Skeeter's direction. "Yeah, I don't know how Vinny found out we were going to be in Vegas but he sent some guys over to try and stop us." "What happened next?" Tiffany asked. "I flashed my ring at them and told them it was too late." "And that was enough for them?" Skeeter asked. "They called Vinny and he told them to lay off I guess." "Oh I'm so glad you're alright," Tiffany said. "Well, I can't stay long. I have a husband to get home to," she said jumping up from the chair. "I guess you're moving over the Stanley's for good?" Tiffany said her voice filled with despair. "Yeah! I'll just pick up a few things for now." "I don't know what I'll do," Tiffany said. "Why?" "I'm not working. I've been laid off. I don't know how I'll pay the rent," Tiffany said. "But I don't want this to spoil your happiness," she added. "I've got an idea Tiffany," Skeeter said. "What?" "Get another roommate. You could put an ad in the window of my lingerie store and probably have a new roommate in one day," he suggested. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
