Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday October 6th 2004 Tiffany watched as Clark walked into the townhouse where they work in Greenwich Village. "Morning Clark," she said as she watched him walk towards her desk. "Morning Tiffany," he said as took a seat in the chair in front of her desk. "What's the matter Clark? You look really depressed," she said as she watched his shoulders slump. "I am depressed. You know that guy that Nicole was seeing?" he asked referring to the car salesman he had caught with his wife. "Yeah, you mean Steven?" "He's suing me." "Get out of here!" "No. His lawyers said that he has permanent damage where I hit him on the head with that statue." "Oh I can't believe the nerve of that guy. I mean you caught him in the bed with your wife," Tiffany said regretting her words when she saw the hurt on his face. She thought about the other day while Clark was out on a sales call and Nicole had come by with Steven. The two had spent several hours upstairs in the bedroom. Steven's head was bandaged but it didn't seem to slow him down too much. "I guess it will all work out. It's hard though. I mean Nicole's living in her apartment and I'm over here with no business and that salesman is suing me." "All these things could change Clark." "You think Nicole will come back to me?" "I don't know. Don't you think it would be better to try to go on with your life?" "I'm trying." "Maybe you should go out some and meet new people," she said hoping to cheer him up. "Well, I think you might be right about that." "Good! That's great. I think you'll feel better once you meet some nice people," she said pleased with his decision. "Well, I've decided that I do need a change," he said slowly. "Yeah." "I don't know how you are going to feel about this," he said hesitating as he watched her closely. "What do you mean? What does this have to do with me?" "Well, I think I'm going to take off for a while. You know take a month or so off and see how things go." "I can handle it. Don't worry about a thing," she said smiling as she patted the stack of papers on her desk. "It's not exactly like that. I was thinking more or less about closing the office to save some money." "What about business? What about parties?" she asked not believing her ears. "I only have a couple of parties and I could refer them." "But Clark. You can't afford to lose money like that," she said remembering how tight the budget had been. "My family is going to help me out. They don't like Nicole and they're more than happy to see me get away for a while." "Well, where would you go?"' "I think I'll go home to Connecticut and stay a while." "To your parents house?" "Yeah, why not?" "But... I don't know. What about me?" "I'm sorry Tiffany. Maybe you can get unemployment until I figure out what I want to do," he said shaking his head in regret. "Clark, this is drastic! I have rent to pay," she said thinking about the fact that her sister Starlene might be married by now. "I know but I have to get away. I can't stand to see Nicole with that car salesman. I have to get away," he said as tears started to run down his cheeks. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
