Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday September 21st 2004 "Morning Tiffany," Starlene said as she walked into the living room to see her sister on the sofa watching the Today Show. "Morning," Tiffany said. "Are you going to look for a job today?" Starlene asked. "I don't think so. I thought you should look for a job," Tiffany said turning down the sound on the TV. "Me?" Starlene asked taking a seat on the sofa next to her sister. "Yeah. Why not? I've worked for years and you've been staying at home. It's time for you to take care of things." "Just forget it. I'm sorry I brought it up," Starlene said. "Besides I think Clark will call you and ask you to come back to work soon." "I don't know. I don't know if I want to go back to work there," she said as they heard a knock on the front door. "I guess that's Vinny again," Tiffany said. "I'll see," Starlene said walking to the front door and looking through the peephole. "It's Skeeter," she said before opening the door. "Hey Skeeter," she said. "Hey Baby," he said walking in as she closed the door behind him. "So what's this I hear Tiffany about you getting fired?" he said walking to the living room and taking a seat on the sofa beside her. "It's true. Clark fired me because he says Nicole isn't comfortable being around me. After all of these years of working around her and putting up with her," she said still clearly upset over the situation. "That isn't fair to you," he said. "Thanks Skeeter. Thanks for seeing my side of things. It seems that everyone has been against me lately," she said glancing at Starlene. "I'm always on your side Baby," he said. "How's it going with your new roommate?" Starlene asked taking a seat in a chair nearby. She couldn't help but resent Skeeter for letting Mafia Vinny move in next door. Skeeter knew Vinny was determined to ruin her relationship with Stanley so she would marry him. "Okay. Vinny's an okay guy." "Skeeter you have to get rid of him," Starlene said. "Why?" "Because he's having someone follow me and Stanley around. He knew Stanley took me to Atlantic City the other night. Vinny even stood on the sidewalk and waited for Stanley and me to come up to the curb in the limo. He stood there with his arms folded and watched as the driver unloaded my overnight bag." "He loves you Starlene," Skeeter said laughing. "It's not funny! He's caused Stanley to break up with me," she said. "That Stanley is a real wuss isn't he?" Skeeter asked. "Stop it Skeeter!" Tiffany said. "Well, it's not my fault. Look if Stanley isn't man enough to stand up for Starlene I can't help that." "You know it's threatening to have him living right next door." Starlene said. "It's just temporary," he said. "That's not what Vinny says. He says he's staying there," Tiffany said. "We'll see," Skeeter said when they heard a knock on the door. "Who could that be?" Skeeter asked. "I'll see" Starlene said walking to the front door in her nightshirt. She opened the door and yanked down her shirt in the front. "Vinny what are you doing here?" she asked. "I came to see if Skeeter was coming back to the apartment or going to his lingerie store now?" he asked eyeing Skeeter on the sofa next to Tiffany. "I'm going downstairs to work now," Skeeter volunteered. "Okay. That's cool. I wanted to see if Starlene would step over next door and we can talk over some of our problems," he said grinning as he looked at her shapely legs in the short nightshirt. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
