Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday September 10th 2004 Tiffany opened the front door to her apartment. "Starlene it's me," she called out as she closed the door. When she didn't hear an answer she walked through the living room towards her sister's bedroom. She knocked on the door. When there wasn't an answer she opened the door. She walked to the chest of drawers to see that one of the drawers was partially open and her sister's lingerie was gone. She walked to the closet and opened the door. The hangers looked full as if all of Starlene's clothes were still there. She looked to the floor of the closet and noticed that Starlene's overnight bag was gone. She quickly took a seat on Starlene's bed and picked up the phone on the nightstand. She dialed Stanley's home phone. "Mr. Morgan's residence," the housekeeper answered. "Hi is Starlene there?" Tiffany asked. "No, Starlene no here" the housekeeper answered in her broken English. "Is Stanley there?" "No, Mr. Morgan no here either," she said. "Okay. This is Starlene's sister Tiffany. If she comes in please have her call me." Tiffany hung up the phone. She walked into the living room and took a seat on the sofa. The thought went through her mind that maybe Starlene had gone next door to see Vinny after Stanley went home last night. Tiffany remembered going to bed and seeing her sister and Stanley in a heated argument. Since she had just left Skeeter in his store downstairs on the ground floor she knew he wouldn't know where Starlene was today. She picked up the phone on the coffee table and called Skeeter's home number next door. "Hello," Vinny answered. "Vinny, I hope I didn't bother you. This is Tiffany," she said. "Yeah, I knew it was you," he said in his thick Brooklyn accent. "I just came home for lunch and Starlene isn't here. I was wondering if maybe she came over to see you." "No. After that run in with Stanley last night I don't think she'll be coming over here for a while," he said referring to Starlene's older lover fighting with him in the hallway. "Okay," she said getting ready to hang up the phone. "Can't blame me this time," he said. "Okay Vinny. Sorry I bothered you," she said hanging up the phone. She sat silently for a moment trying to figure out where her sister might be. The ringing of the telephone on the coffee table interrupted her thoughts. "Hello," she answered. "Hi Tiffany," Starlene said. "Hi Starlene." "I called Manhattan Party Planning and Clark said you stormed out of there mad." "Yeah. He asked for my advice about Nicole and when I told him that I thought he should divorce her, he got mad at me," she said. "You didn't quit your job did you?" "No. I just walked out angry to go to lunch. Why? He didn't say I had quit did he?" "No, not exactly. I just asked when you were coming back and he said he wasn't sure you ever would." "Oh great! Just what I need now, for him to fire me." "Well, are you planning on going back in after lunch?" "Of course. I just wanted to come home to talk to you. I'm really unhappy about the way we have been fighting over Vinny." "Me too." "I love you Starlene." "I love you too Tiffany." "Good. Why don't you come home and I'll treat you to lunch. I could use a hug and someone to talk to," Tiffany said. "Well, I would but I can't do that Tiffany," Starlene said hesitantly. "What do you mean?" "I'm not in New York City Tiffany," she said. "Where are you Starlene?" CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
