Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday September 6th 2004 Tiffany, Starlene and Skeeter glanced at each other as they stood inside the closed front door to Tiffany's apartment listening to the angry voices in the hallway. "Is that Stanley out there with Vinny?" Starlene asked Skeeter. She didn't wait for his answer but quickly walked past him towards the peephole to look out. She pushed open the metal cover and stared out into the hallway towards Skeeter's apartment next door. "It's Stanley! Oh no. I hope Vinny doesn't hit him. Stanley's old," she said referring to her wealthy older lover and the young Mafia connected Vinny. "I'll go out there and talk to them," Skeeter said opening the door to Tiffany's apartment as the two women watched. "What's going on out here?" Skeeter asked walking out into the hallway leaving Tiffany's door open behind him. "This hoodlum is lurking here outside Starlene's door," Stanley said in his usual dignified manner. "I ain't lurkin'. If you give me time old man I was trying to tell you I'm moving in here with Skeeter," Vinny said in his thick Brooklyn accent. "Is this true?" Stanley asked glancing towards Tiffany as Starlene stood beside her in the doorway. "Yes," both women said in unison. "My I ask why?" Stanley asked. "Because Nicole is moving into her old apartment and Vinny needed a place to stay," Skeeter volunteered. "The job isn't paying good enough to afford an apartment?" Stanley asked eyeing Vinny suspiciously. "I oughta' put you out of your misery," Vinny said as his muscular jaw tightened. "That's enough! Come on in Stanley," Starlene said walking out into the hallway and grabbing Stanley's arm. "Starlene is that what you want?" Vinny asked as pain filled his voice. "Yes. This isn't fair Vinny. Why don't you get your own apartment? It's not fair to move in next door to me like this," she said as Stanley walked into Tiffany's apartment and towards the sofa. He sat down and immediately looked through his pockets for a pack of cigarettes. "I can't believe you'd say that Starlene. Why didn't you tell me that you feel this way?" Vinny asked. "You didn't ask me Vinny. You just took it upon yourself to move over here without even asking me," she said angrily. "I wanted to be near you Starlene," he said. "Look Tiffany why don't you and Skeeter go inside and let me and Starlene talk this over," Vinny said glancing at them. "Okay," Tiffany said. "I'm going home Tiffany. Call me if you need me," Skeeter said walking to his apartment next door and closing the door. "Okay Vinny, now we can talk. What have you got to say for yourself?" Starlene asked frowning. "I love you Starlene. I want to marry you. I thought if I moved in next door with Skeeter that we could get things moving along a little faster." "You didn't ask me Vinny. You never ask me," she said putting her hands on her shapely hips as she shook her head. "What would you have said if I did?" She stood there for a minute thinking. "No. I would have told you no Vinny. I'm not going to marry you. I still love Stanley," she said watching him closely. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
