Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday August 23rd 2004 "What's the matter Clark?" Tiffany asked holding the phone a little closer to her ear as his voice trailed off in pain. "It's Nicole," he repeated. "What happened?" she asked as she heard him starting to cry. "I'm on my way back to the office. If I have any appointments, cancel them. Okay?" he said. "Sure. Are you okay?" "No. I'll see you soon," he said hanging up the phone. She put the phone back on the receiver and shook her head in dismay. She remembered the words Vinny had said a few minutes ago when he left to go have a beer with her ex-husband Skeeter. Vinny had told Skeeter that Nicole was having an affair with the car salesman where he had bought his new red Ferrari. She thought about the day she and Nicole were alone in the townhouse where she worked. Nicole had admitted that "Steven" the car salesman had been keeping her company while Clark had been out of the office. She grabbed the mouse to her computer and flipped through the appointment book on the screen to see that Clark didn't have any appointments. She would just have to wait until he came back to the office to find out what had happened. Her thoughts were interrupted when the front door opened. "Hey Tiffany," Starlene said walking in and closing the door behind her. She walked towards Tiffany's desk in the living room of the townhouse. "Hi Starlene. What are you doing here?" "On my way out to do some shopping. I just thought I'd stop by and see how you're doing." "Not too good," Tiffany said leaning back in her chair and watching her sister take a seat in the chair in front of her desk. "What's the matter?" "Well, Clark just called and he was crying. He said he stopped by Nicole's old apartment and that she was there. He couldn't seem to get the words out to tell me what happened." "I wonder what that means?" Starlene said. "I'm not sure. He's on his way back to the office. If he comes in really upset maybe you better leave." "Oh sure. I just thought maybe you could go to lunch that's why I stopped by on the way to Fifth Avenue." "I don't think I can. There's really been so much going on here today," Tiffany said getting ready to tell her about Vinny coming by earlier. The front door of the townhouse opened and Clark walked in shoulders slumped. He dropped his briefcase beside the front door and started to walk towards the staircase to go up to his office. "Clark are you okay?" Tiffany asked. He stopped on the first flight of stairs and glanced back towards Tiffany's desk. "Starlene you're here," he said waving his hand. "Yeah, I was just leaving," she said starting to get up from her chair. "That's okay. You can stay if you like," he said as his voice cracked in pain. He quickly started up the stairs. "What are you going to do Tiffany?" Starlene asked turning to see her sister wide eyed at the events. "I don't know. I guess just wait and see if he comes back down to tell me what happened. I've never seen him this upset," she said as the front door opened and his wife Nicole walked in. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
