Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday August 20th 2004 "Vinny I don't want to argue with you about this. I just think that Starlene isn't ready for marriage," Tiffany said trying to change her angle on the argument hoping to persuade him to leave her sister alone. "I think she's ready. I think she's been ready. I think she loves me," he said as he twisted the gold chain on his neck. "She probably likes you but I don't know if she loves you," Tiffany said. "I said I think she loves me. I think if you weren't so dead set against us she would be with me now," he said in his thick Brooklyn accent. "No, it's not like that Vinny," Tiffany said. "That's the way I see it. I think you're all nervous about my business," he said referring to his dealings with Nicole's deceased father the Mafia boss in Florida. "Well, it does kind of make me nervous," Tiffany admitted as she heard the front door open and her ex-husband Skeeter walked in. "Skeeter," she said relieved for some diversion. "Hey Baby! How's it going Vinny?" Skeeter asked walking towards the chair where Vinny was seated. Vinny stood up and the two men patted each other on the back. "It's going pretty good," Vinny said grinning. "How's the lingerie business going?" he asked referring to Skeeter's store "Next to Nothing" on Bleecker Street. "Great. Business has been picking up. There are a lot of tourists in town right now with the Republican National Convention. Who would have ever thought those women would like thongs so much," Skeeter said raising his eyebrows. "Makes me think different about the White House," he said laughing. "Really? That's cool buddy," Vinny said glancing towards Tiffany. "Me and your misses here was just talking over this thing with Starlene." "Yeah, the two of you almost tied the knot the other day, didn't you?" Skeeter asked. "Almost but not close enough. It looks like Tiffany is standing between me and my dream come true," Vinny said glancing towards Tiffany as she looked down at her desk to avoid his eyes. "Why don't we go have a beer?" Skeeter asked. "We could do that. I guess me and you ain't seeing eye to eye anyway," Vinny said glancing back at Tiffany. "I've got work to do. We can talk another time," she said. "Come on Vinny," Skeeter said patting Vinny on the back. "I'll call you later Baby," Skeeter said winking at Tiffany. "Okay," she said. She silently mouthed the words 'thank you' as Vinny walked towards the door to leave. Vinny turned around before opening the front door and looked back at Tiffany. "No harm meant here Tiffany. You's and me don't see things the same way. But one day we might be family, so don't let the differences bother you too much." "Okay Vinny." "And if that car salesman Steven calls tell him he owes me one," Vinny said grinning broadly. "I didn't have any papers that needed signing. I just made that up so he could see Nicole this morning. Don't tell Clark though. Okay?" he said referring to her boss and his wife Nicole. "Sure Vinny," Tiffany said. "Nicole's seeing a car salesman?" Skeeter asked as they walked out of the door into the sunshine. "Yeah, that woman can't get enough," Vinny said as the door closed. Tiffany watched through the window as the two men left laughing and smiling. She wished she knew if Skeeter was talking to Vinny about his experiences with Nicole. Her thoughts were interrupted by the ringing telephone. "Manhattan Party Planning" she answered. "Tiffany I have a problem," Clark said. "I stopped by Nicole's apartment to pick up something before I went to the restaurant to meet her for lunch," Clark said as his voice started to weaken with strain. "Yeah?" "Nicole was there," he said. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
