Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday August 17th 2004 "Here's your beer Skeeter," Tiffany said handing the cold can of Bud to her ex-husband as he sat in the living room of her Bleecker Street apartment. "What do you think you can do about Vinny?" Starlene asked as she sat on the sofa across from Skeeter. "I'll talk to him Starlene. You sure you don't want to marry him?" Skeeter asked. "No, I'm moving back in with Stanley this afternoon. The thing with Vinny was just a lark. I took a ride in his new Ferrari and it just all blew up into something big," she said referring to Vinny wanting to marry her at City Hall. "You know Vinny wouldn't be a bad catch," Skeeter said. "He's got a lot of money," he said referring to his Mafia connections and his new red car. "Stop it Skeeter. Vinny is tied to the Mafia. Starlene can't marry him. Besides she's got Stanley and he's respectable," Tiffany said. "And old. And he never comes through with marriage after he promises," Skeeter said referring to his former wife Jan's father. "I love Stanley though. I was just using Vinny to make Stanley jealous so he would marry me," Starlene admitted. "Okay. I told you I'll talk to Vinny for you," Skeeter said. "Why do you think Vinny will listen to you?" Starlene asked. "Because he likes me Starlene. Just let me handle it for you. Go on and move back in with that old man if you want. If I were you I'd get him to set the wedding date first though. He might back out after he gets you in his house again. You know the saying 'why buy the cow when you can get the milk free,' he said in his southern accent. "I know," Starlene said as her cell phone on the coffee table rang. She bent over to pick it up. "It's Stanley," she said glancing at the caller ID. "Hello Stanley," she answered. "Hello Starlene. How are you?" he asked in a rather formal tone of voice. "Fine honey. I've got my bags all ready. What time are you sending your car for me?" she asked. "Well, that's why I called," he said hesitating. "What Stanley? What's the problem now?" she asked as anger started to fill her voice. "I'm a little concerned about this thing with Vinny. I mean it's very damaging that my friend Joe at Playbody Magazine lost his job after ten years." "Well maybe he wasn't doing a good job," Starlene said hoping to brush the problem aside. "No, I mean I think it's all running much deeper than that. I'm worried Starlene." "Worried about what Stanley?" she asked as she saw Skeeter shaking his head as if to say 'I told you so.' "Maybe we better wait a little while for you to move back in honey," Stanley said bracing for her reaction. "Fine Stanley! That's just fine. I wait for years to marry you and once again you're stalling." "Starlene if you hadn't gone riding in the car with that hoodlum this wouldn't have happened." "If you'd married me when you said you would I never would have gone riding with Vinny either." "This isn't getting us anywhere," Stanley said. "No, we aren't getting anywhere. Maybe I will marry Vinny after all," she said slamming the cell phone shut. "Now there you go," Skeeter said smiling. "Shut up Skeeter," Tiffany said worried again that her sister would start seeing the Mafia connected Vinny when he moves to New York. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
