Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday August 2nd 2004 Starlene stood up and smoothed down the skirt on her long white wedding gown. "Vinny this man came all the way down here to City Hall to tell me that Playbody Magazine wants me to model again," she said frowning at her Mafia connected husband-to-be. "I ain't allowing my wife to pose in any Playbody Magazine," Vinny said in his thick Brooklyn accent as his muscular jaw tightened. "Why not?" Starlene asked frowning as couples in the waiting room started to whisper. "Cause I ain't allowing that," Vinny said. "He came all the way down here just to talk to me!" she said smiling at the man Stanley had sent to persuade her not to marry Vinny. "Excuse me are you Vinny?" a clerk asked interrupting as he walked towards Vinny and Starlene. "Yeah," Vinny said. "What about it?" "Do you have your license?" the clerk asked. "Yeah, he said taking out his wallet from his back pocket and handing the clerk his Florida State driver's license. "No, do you have your wedding license?" the woman asked handing the driver's license back to him as she shook her head. "What license are you talking about here? I work in Florida, but I'm from Brooklyn," Vinny said. "You were supposed to come down here yesterday and apply for a license to get married today," she said as Starlene listened intently. "They never said that to me over there," Vinny said pointing to the clerk on the other side of the room. "He's new and that's why I'm checking. We can't perform the ceremony until you get the proper license." "Really?" Starlene asked raising her eyebrows as she glanced at the agent from Playbody Magazine that Stanley had sent to stop the wedding. "Starlene I'll talk to you later," the agent said smiling as he turned and started to walk away. "I better not hear of you bothering my woman," Vinny snapped as the agent quickly pushed open the heavy gray door and walked out into the hallway to leave. "You can pick up your license application on the next floor sir," the clerk said starting to walk away. "Look, this don't suit me. I can slip you a few hundred and you just get us in there," Vinny said grabbing the clerk by the arm. "This is New York City mister," the clerk said. "That's what I mean. There ain't no need for me to be inconvenienced here over some piece of paper." "It's the rule," she said as Vinny reached into his pocket and took out several hundred dollar bills. "I can't do that. You don't understand, the man over there has to have the license one day before you can go into the wedding chapel," the clerk said eyeing the money as she scratched her forehead. "Look Vinny, I guess it's not our wedding day," Starlene said shaking her head in disbelief. "Yeah it is honey," Vinny said his eyes feasting on her low cut wedding dress and voluptuous bosom. "You didn't know we had to have a license the day before we could get married?" Starlene asked starting to get angry as she noticed other couples snickering at them. "No, I didn't know that. I've never been married before Starlene," he said starting to worry. "I thought you had figured the whole thing out ahead of time," she said. "This is just a little hitch. We can come back tomorrow and get married. Right?" Vinny asked turning to the woman. "Yeah, if you get the license today," she said her face dropping when she saw him put the money back into his wallet. "I should have known. I should have known better," Starlene said stomping her foot as she quickly turned to rush out of the room. "We can stay in the Hamptons tonight and come back tomorrow Starlene," Vinny said rushing after her. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
