Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday July 20th 2004 "Mr. Morgan, your daughter Jan is here," the housekeeper said as Jan walked into the living room of Stanley's mansion on the Upper East Side. "Jan. What a surprise to see you here," Stanley said as he finished his martini and motioned for the housekeeper to refresh his glass. "I'll have one too," Jan said as the housekeeper picked up the tray from the coffee table. "What brings you here?" Stanley asked as his daughter took a seat in a nearby chair. "I came to see if you were okay?" "Of course I'm okay." "I heard about Starlene and that Mafia guy," she said tossing her purse on the floor next to her as she watched his aging face. "Who told you?" "Your secretary. I called and was hoping to stop by your office. She said you had just called and told her you weren't coming back into the office today." "I need some time," he said as he took a cigarette from the box on the coffee table. "Father you must stop that nasty habit. It's going to kill you," she said. "Who cares." "Oh, you are depressed. That's what your secretary said. She said you sounded more depressed than when you lost that deal five years ago." "I'll live through it," he said as he watched his housekeeper walking into the living room with a tray of martinis. "I think this is all for the best Father. That girl is nothing but a gold digger," Jan said referring to Starlene. "I don't think Starlene was after my money," he said taking a sip of his drink and placing it on the coffee table. "I do. She's just after fame and fortune." The phone rang on the coffee table and Stanley quickly picked it up. "Hello," he answered. "Stanley has she called?" Tiffany asked referring to her sister Starlene. "No have you heard anything?" "No. I've been here waiting by the phone. I need to go back to work though. Clark is out on calls and I need to get back to answer the phone," she said referring to her boss at the party planning business where she works. "Well is Skeeter still there?" Stanley asked immediately regretting his words when he noticed Jan putting her drink on the table and listening intently. "Yeah, he's still here but he has to get back down to his lingerie store too." "Starlene knows your work number. She knows Skeeter's phone number too. If she needs anyone I'm sure she'll call. I must assume she's enjoying the company of this hoodlum," he said referring to Vinny. "I hope she's okay. If you hear anything call me at work okay?" "Of course I'll let you know if I hear from her," Stanley said hanging up the phone. "So Skeeter was at Tiffany's apartment when this happened?" Jan said referring to her ex-husband. "Yes he was there." "Father are Skeeter and Tiffany a couple again?" Jan asked as she nervously sipped her martini. "I believe so," he said thoughtlessly. "I knew it! I just knew it," she said jumping up from her chair and starting to pace the floor. "You knew he was with Tiffany all along. You knew it and you hid it from me because of that Starlene," she said pounding her hand on the mantle as she passed by. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
