Can't you see he's already very upset," Tiffany said as Skeeter stood in front of the sofa where Stanley was seated. "I love Starlene," Stanley said as tears started to come to his aging eyes. "You should have married her," Skeeter said. "Skeeter please," Tiffany said. "I'll leave. This isn't doing anyone any good here. Besides if Starlene comes back with that hoodlum I shouldn't be here," Stanley said referring to Vinny. "That hoodlum. That's not a very nice thing to say about Vinny," Skeeter said spoiling for a fight. "Skeeter please, stop it," Tiffany said glancing back and forth from the men to outside her window hoping to see Vinny's Ferrari. "I just think the person at fault here ain't Vinny, it's Stanley. He promised to marry her then backed out. That hurt Starlene and she's tired of waiting," Skeeter said walking back to his chair and taking a seat. "I don't think it's wise for me to continue this conversation or to be here when Starlene comes home," Stanley said getting up and walking towards the front door of Tiffany's apartment. Tiffany left her post at the window and started to follow him. "When she comes home tell her I love her," Stanley said almost in a whisper as he stood at the front door of the apartment. "I will," Tiffany said. "Tell her to call me." "Okay, I hope the two of you can make up. I don't think she meant anything by this Stanley," Tiffany said hoping the wealthy older man would still marry her sister. "She chose to get into the car with him," Stanley said shaking his head as he remembered her draping her wedding gown over her arm and getting into the new red Ferrari with Vinny. "Maybe it was just the new car," Tiffany said hopefully. "Is that all it takes to get her to leave me? How will I ever know now," he said his voice filled with sorrow. "If you'd married her when you promised, this never would have happened. See she can get a man with more money," Skeeter called from his seat on the sofa. "I better go. This isn't getting us anywhere," Stanley said. "Besides it would be better for me to be home in case she comes to my house," Stanley said forcing himself to plan ahead. "Do you think I should call the police?" Tiffany asked as Stanley walked out into the hallway and hit the button to call the elevator. "No, she's a grown woman. They couldn't do anything. Hopefully she'll be back soon and this will all be over," he said wondering if it would be over for the two of them as well. "Bye Stanley. I'll call you if I hear something," Tiffany said as he stepped into the elevator and the door closed. She closed the door to her apartment and locked it. She walked back towards the sofa where Skeeter was seated. "Come on Tiffany don't worry about Starlene. She'll be fine," he said as he watched her walk back to the window to look down on Bleecker Street. She saw Stanley walking towards his long white limo as the driver got out to open the door for the older man. "What if she doesn't come back soon? What will I do then?" Tiffany asked glancing back and forth on the street below hoping to see Vinny's car. "She'll come back. Vinny loves Starlene, he'll treat her real nice," Skeeter said thinking about the conversations the two men had shared about the voluptuous blonde. "Skeeter I'm sure Vinny's job is with the Mafia," Tiffany said thinking the worse. "What if he won't bring her home and she wants to come home?" "He might work for the mob but he ain't no cave man Tiffany," Skeeter said grinning. "You admitted it! See there! He does work for the mob," Tiffany said starting to pace the living room floor.
