Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 12th 2004
"What do you want me to do with these suitcases lady?" the cab driver asked as he got out of his taxi and walked towards the curb.  He looked up at Tiffany as she peered out from the window of her second floor apartment overlooking Bleecker Street.
"I don't know what to say," Tiffany said glancing at Stanley as he walked towards the cab leaving his driver and long white limo parked on the other side of the street.  He pushed his way through the crowds of gossiping pedestrians on the sidewalk.
"Look man, this ain't going to cut it.  I gotta work. I gotta make a living here.  You can't expect me to sit here with this broad's suitcases in the trunk and lose out on my fares," the cab driver said referring to Starlene's luggage in his trunk.
"What do you think Tiffany?" Stanley called out glancing towards her window.
"Skeeter why don't you take Starlene's suitcases out of the cab and bring them back up," Tiffany said.
"Or I could just have my driver put them in my car and take them to my house," Stanley suggested halfheartedly.
"What if she decides to stay with Vinny?" Skeeter asked.
"For once you might have a point," Stanley said as he felt his face redden as pedestrians started to whisper. "Why don't you take her luggage back up to Tiffany's apartment," Stanley conceded.
Skeeter walked towards the cab as the driver unlocked the trunk. Together the taxi driver and Skeeter took out the suitcases.
Stanley motioned for his driver to get out of the limo and assist the two men. Tiffany watched from the window as her sister's suitcases were being unloaded and Stanley's driver started to bring them into her apartment building. She walked towards the front door of her apartment and opened it when she heard the elevator door open in the hallway.
"Thanks," she said to the limo driver as Stanley walked in behind him.
"What do you think I should do Stanley?" Tiffany asked as she watched the aging man take a seat on her sofa as Skeeter closed the door after the limo driver left.
"I don't know," Stanley said.
"She's a grown woman," Skeeter said walking to the kitchen and taking out a beer from Tiffany's refrigerator.
"Yeah, but she's with Vinny and we all know he works for Nicole's father.  We all know Nicole's father is a mob boss in Florida," Tiffany said as she started to rub her sweaty hands together in anxiety.
"No ones knows for certain Vinny's in the mob," Skeeter said remembering the times he and Vinny had shared a few beers.
"Oh yes we do," Tiffany said.  "I think I better call the police," Tiffany said.
"No, she'll come home... sooner or later," Skeeter said walking back into the living room and taking a seat in a chair nearby. He watched as Tiffany walked to the window to look down on Bleecker Street.
"What if she marries Vinny or something?" Tiffany asked.
"Starlene wouldn't do that.  She wants to marry me," Stanley said.
"If you had married her when you said you would, this wouldn't have happened," Skeeter snapped.
"I don't take marriage lightly," Stanley said referring to the fact that Skeeter had recently blackmailed his daughter Jan to get her to sign divorce papers.
"Are you trying to start something with me?" Skeeter said jumping up from his chair and walking towards the sofa where Stanley was seated.
"Skeeter no!" Tiffany said as she turned to watch him standing at the sofa glaring down at Stanley with a can of beer in his hand.
"Come on old man.  Maybe today's the day all your scores get settled," Skeeter said placing his can of beer on the coffee table and motioning for Stanley to stand.
