Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday June 24th 2004 "Starlene would you like another glass of wine honey?" Stanley asked as the waiter walked to their table at Tavern on the Green Restaurant. "Sure," she said turning up her glass and taking the last few sips. The waiter took the empty glass and walked towards the bar. "I'm sorry things got so crazy with us too Honey," Stanley said. "Well this helps," she said glancing around at the gorgeous restaurant in Central Park. "I guess I can understand that you and Lola are friends since you've known her for so many years," she said referring to her recent temper tantrum when she came to his office and found Lola there. "Yeah, honey. Lola is well known in New York and we go a long way back," he said remembering their many intimate weekends in the Hamptons. "I still don't like it though Stanley. I don't want you going to lunch with her or having her in your house anymore," Starlene said pouting. "Well, I don't have to do that. But remember we were broken up and you were seeing Marco," he said remembering how his friend had told him that he'd seen them together in the lobby of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. "I don't even like him," she said remembering how angry she was finding out that Marco was a married man. "I thought about having him investigated. If he lied to you about being married then maybe he's lied about other things too," Stanley said. "Let's forget Marco." "I'll try. It's hard though Starlene. I can't stop thinking about that man having his way with you." "It didn't happen but a couple of times Stanley." "That's too many. Way too many," he said starting to get angry again. "Well, I have something else that I have to ask you about too," she said as the waiter placed fresh drinks on their table. "What?" "Nicole. Have you been seeing Nicole again?" she said referring to Tiffany's bosses' wife. "No. Whatever makes you ask me that?" "You did have an affair with her Stanley. Remember?" "That was a long time ago," he said remembering the intimate lunch hours he and Nicole shared on the sofa in his office in the Empire State Building. "It still makes me mad. It makes me so mad," she said remembering catching the two of them together. "It was a long time ago Starlene. It was before you and I were serious or living together." "Yeah, but I heard that you called her," Starlene said remembering Vinny's words when he called her the other day. "Who told you something like that?" "Just a friend," she said not wanting him to know she had been talking to Vinny again. "I have not talked to Nickie," he said. "Nickie! I don't like the way you call her Nickie either. It sure sounds like to me you've been chummy with her again," she said as her voice grew a little louder. "No. Now we came here to make up Starlene, not fight again," he said glancing around the busy restaurant. "I just don't know what to do Stanley," she said as tears started to roll down her cheeks again. "What honey?" he said admiring her voluptuous bosom in the low cut blouse. "Everything is so messed up with us now. All of these people seem to be getting between us. I bought my wedding dress and now we aren't even a couple anymore," she said wiping the tears from her cheeks with her hand. "Starlene. I didn't start this. Don't you think it was wrong for you to see Marco just because you were mad at me for not setting the wedding date?" "Yeah... yeah Stanley. It was wrong for me to do that. I've never been so sorry about anything in my whole life," she said as the couple at the next table stopped talking so they could listen. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
