Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday June 21st 2004 Lola quickly grabbed her purse from the corner of Stanley's desk and walked towards his office door to leave. "Lola," Stanley called out as he watched the older celebrity grimace when she passed Starlene in the doorway. "I'll speak to you later Stanley," Lola said. "Over my dead body," Starlene said putting her hands on her hips and glaring at the attractive older woman. "You better grow up Starlene," Lola said. "I'll have you know I'm all grown up and woman enough to take care of my man. You leave my Stanley alone," Starlene said as Stanley got up from his office chair and reached for her arm. "Goodbye darling," Lola said as she turned and rushed down the hallway towards the lobby. "Starlene, what are you doing?" Stanley asked in a low voice as they listened to the sound of Lola's high heels in the hallway. "Standing up for what's mine," she said shaking her head and pushing her long blonde hair from her eyes. "Why did you come barging into my office accusing Lola like that?" "I overheard every word you said to her. I heard it all Stanley Morgan," she said putting her hands on her hips. "Exactly what did you hear?" "That you were tired of coming to my aid. That both of you thought it was time for me to grow up and get my own life," she said hitting his desk with her fist. "Starlene, we weren't talking about you," Stanley said. "Oh sure! Like I can't believe my own ears now! What kind of fool do you think I am Stanley?" she said her voice growing louder with every word. "Starlene honey. We were talking about Jan," Stanley said shaking his head in regret. "Jan?" she asked in a softer voice. "Yes Jan," he said taking a seat in his leather chair. "Oh," she said starting to pace the floor in front of his long mahogany desk. "Don't you trust me Starlene?" "Trust you? How can I trust you when you have that Lola woman over here in your office and I hear rumors that she was in your bed just last week," she said as tears started to roll down her cheeks. "You said the word... rumors. That's all it was rumors. Jan did that to break us up," he said referring to his daughter. "I could just kill Jan for that," Starlene said. "Try not to be too mad at her." "Why? Why not? Why shouldn't I want to kill her after what she's done?" "She's got her own problems now." "What's wrong, she didn't close a deal or something?" "No Starlene. Jan really does have problems. Skeeter is forcing her to sign the divorce papers and she's all upset about this." "Yeah, he told me he was divorcing her," she said nonchalantly. "Skeeter told you he's divorcing my daughter?" he asked. "Yeah, he mentioned it." "He's seeing Tiffany isn't he?" he asked referring to her sister and Skeeter's ex-wife. "Oh come on Stanley. I didn't come here to get into the middle of Jan's problems. We are the problem I want to solve." "I didn't start the problems with us Starlene. You did. You were the one that moved out and started seeing that guy Marco." "Oh Stanley. This is so horrible," she said as tears rolled down her cheeks onto her heaving bosom. He glanced at her voluptuous bosom as she sobbed. "What can I do?" he asked. "I picked up my wedding dress today Stanley," she said as he walked towards her putting his arms around her.
