Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday June 16th 2004
"Hi Skeeter. How are you doing?" Starlene asked as she walked into the living room of her sister Tiffany's apartment.
"Never been better," Skeeter said leaning back on the sofa as he watched her walk into the living room and take a seat in the chair nearby.
"Did I interrupt the two of you?" Starlene asked as she glanced towards her sister Tiffany that was seated close to her ex-husband on the sofa.
"No we were just talking," Tiffany said.
"Well, I don't know what to do," Starlene said crossing her legs.
"What's up?" Tiffany asked.
"I went to the interview for the job at the TV station for hostess on the show 'Blonde World'," Starlene said.
"Let me guess... Marco was there," Tiffany said referring to their married neighbor that had started a relationship with Starlene before she knew he was married.
"No, Marco was in California. I met with this other guy."
"So what happened?"
"They don't have any money for the show," Starlene said rolling her eyes.
"So it was all a lie?" Skeeter asked.
"No, it wasn't completely a lie. This producer is interested in doing the show but they have to get sponsors and everything else."
"Well, maybe that's the way it works Starlene," Tiffany said.
"Yeah, but that isn't all the things I didn't like," she said rolling her eyes again.
"What? You got to sleep on the casting couch with some producers first?" Skeeter asked grinning.
"No. It's one of those cable channels."
"Cable can be good Starlene," Tiffany said.
"No I mean it's probably channel three hundred or something. I don't think anybody would see me," she said pouting.
"Well, how much would they pay you?" Skeeter asked.
"Nothing unless it started making money."
"That doesn't seem fair," Tiffany said.
"Yeah and all of this cost me my wedding with Stanley too," she said remembering how Stanley had found out about Marco and canceled the wedding.
"This Marco guy led you on. Somebody outta put this guys lights out for him," Skeeter said as his jaw tightened.
"I agree," Starlene said. "I could just kill him."
"Starlene you went out with Marco though. You can't blame him entirely," Tiffany said.
"You're seeing Skeeter and you know he's married," Starlene said angrily.
"Wooa! Wait a minute here. I'm getting divorced and soon," Skeeter said.
"Right. Like we haven't heard that before," Starlene said.
"No really. Jan will be signing the papers in the next couple of days."
"Well, congratulations Skeeter! How did you do that?" Starlene said raising her eyebrows as she watched him.
"Pressure. I applied a little pressure. Well, I've got to get back downstairs to my lingerie store. I told Amanda she could take a long lunch hour. She and her girlfriend are fighting again," he said grimacing as he referred to his gay salesgirl.
"I guess you'll be firing her soon anyway if you're getting a divorce," Starlene said referring to the fact that Jan had hired her.
"I don't know. If Jan keeps paying her then I might keep her. She's loyal to me now anyway," he said getting up to leave.
"Well does this mean you and Tiffany will be tying the knot again soon?" Starlene said grinning as she watched the couple walking to the front door.
