Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday June 8th 2004 Stanley hung up his phone and turned his leather chair around quickly when he heard his office door swing open and hit the wall with force. "Starlene! I didn't know you were here," he said as his smile faded when he saw the frown on her face. "I know you didn't. I heard you on the phone with Lola just now," she said putting her hands on her hips and standing in front of his desk. "Yeah, she called and told me that you phoned her at home last night all upset," he said reaching for a cigarette in his desk drawer. "I sure did. I want some answers Stanley Morgan," she said stomping her high heel sandal on the plush carpet of his office in the Empire State Building. "I don't understand honey. I thought we were all made up and happy last night," he said remembering their intimate evening at his Upper East Side mansion. "Oh yeah. I guess you did think that. I mean you take me out to dinner and to bed then you call Lola today," she said remembering the phone call she had just eavesdropped on outside his office door. "She called me," he said lighting his cigarette and taking a long puff. "So she called you. What difference does it make? I know what you've been doing Stanley. I heard that you and Lola were more than just friends," she said remembering what her ex-brother-in-law and Stanley's son-in-law Skeeter had told her. "What are you talking about?" "I heard that you and Lola were doing it again. How dare you take me to your bed the night after you had her there? I hate you Stanley. I just hate you for this," she said as hot tears streaked the blush on her young face. "Oh honey," he said getting up from his chair and walking around the desk toward her. His eyes feasted on her voluptuous bosom in the low cut tight sweater she was wearing. "Don't touch me," she snapped as she wiped her face with the back of her hand. "Starlene, I don't know what you're talking about sweetie," he said gently putting his arm around her waist and pulling her closer. "Don't sweetie me either," she said pulling away. "Come on honey. I've been faithful to you. I told you that I took Lola to lunch the other day and that's the only other woman I've even looked at lately." "You did more than take her to lunch," Starlene said. "Come on Starlene. That's not true." "You took her to bed that night. There are eyewitnesses," she said hitting his desk with her fist. "That didn't happen. You're imagining things." "I am not! Skeeter told me that Jan stopped by and saw the two of you in bed... hot and heavy!" she said as her shoulders started to shake as she cried. "Oh! That explains everything," Stanley said putting his arm around her. "I heard you on the phone with her too, just now," Starlene said as he stood beside her gently rubbing her back. "She called me all upset because you called her at home last night and accused her," he repeated. "I had to Stanley. I had to," she said as her heavy bosom heaved as she sobbed. "Oh honey. I can explain everything," he said. "I bet. I just bet you can Stanley. As soon as I move out of your house you let that old celebrity move in," she said jealous of all of the publicity the more mature woman had received in recent months. "No, no, I didn't," he said. "You took her to our bed Stanley. Everything is all messed up with us now." "No it's not. Not unless you're still seeing that guy Marco," he said watching her as her eyes widened when he said her neighbor's name. "Who told you his name?" she asked worried. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
