Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday May 28th 2004
"How do I look?" Starlene asked as she turned around several times for her sister to see the low cut black dress she was wearing.
"Very nice. That dress is the lowest cut I've ever seen though," Tiffany said wondering if her sisters voluptuous bosom would stay covered when she moved around.
"Well, I want to make him suffer," Starlene said referring to her older lover Stanley.
"You haven't talked to him anymore after seeing him with Lola? Did he explain why Lola answered the phone when you called his house?"
"No, we talked just long enough to make this date for dinner tonight."
"Where is he taking you?"
"I don't know. It better be nice and he better have a good excuse for his behavior," she said.
"Starlene, you know you did go out with Marco and Stanley found out. That is how all of this started."
"I had bought my wedding dress. Stanley canceled the wedding just because of that!" she said defensively.
"You went out on him."
"He has been stringing me along for over a year that's why I did it."
"This is just becoming a bigger mess all the time," Tiffany said shaking her head.
"Like you and Skeeter aren't a big mess!" Starlene said angrily as she nodded her head towards the apartment next door where Tiffany's ex-husband lives.
"I guess you're right. I don't have any room to talk. But I was married to Skeeter and that's why all of this happened with us," she said. She reflected on how she had become involved with him after he said he was divorcing Stanley's daughter Jan.
"Well, it looks like we're in the same boat now," Starlene said. "I'm ready to sink or swim. Stanley and I have to get some things straightened out tonight."
"What do you want him to do Starlene?" Tiffany asked as she watched Starlene apply another coat of lip-gloss.
"I want him to tell me he loves me and wants to marry me," she said as she tossed the tube of lip-gloss back into her purse and closed it.
"But what about the TV show "Blonde World?" What if Marco comes through with a job as a hostess on this TV show?"
"That would be really hard to decide Tiffany," she said turning to stare at her sister.
"Which do you really want Starlene? Do you want to marry Stanley or do you want to get the job as a hostess for this TV show?"
"I want both," she said honestly.
"But you know that Stanley isn't going to agree for you to work with a man that you cheated on him with."
"I didn't know at the time that Marco was married and that his wife actually lives in this building when she's not in California. Oh, we'll see. I guess I'll have to see how involved this relationship between Lola and Stanley has become," she said referring to them seeing Stanley with his former lover, the celebrity Lola Rodgers.
"Lola is more Stanley's age. There might be something there," Tiffany said.
"Yeah, but I'm young and better looking," she said as she adjusted her straps to further enhance her cleavage.
"But he and Lola go back a long ways. They're from the same social background. Lola is rich and high society."
"Whose side are you on?" Starlene asked staring at her through narrowed eyes.
They both heard a knock on the door. "Who would that be?" Starlene asked.
"I don't know. I wasn't expecting anyone," Tiffany said.
Starlene went to the front door and glanced through the peephole. "It's a woman," she said in a whisper.
"Do you know her?" Tiffany asked.
"No," Starlene said. "She's really pretty," she added as her heart raced with fear thinking it might be Marco's wife.
