Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday May 27th 2004 "I guess I'll just go home," Starlene said as she and Tiffany walked into the townhouse where Tiffany worked on MacDougal Alley in Greenwich Village. "You can stay here a while. Clark and Nicole are upstate at an appointment. Sit down and relax honey. I know you're upset," she said referring to their lunch today when Starlene had seen her lover Stanley with his former lover Lola Rodgers. "I don't know what to do," Starlene said taking a seat on the sofa as Tiffany turned on her computer to check for messages. "I think you should talk to Stanley and see what's going on between them," Tiffany said happy to see there wasn't anything but spam to delete. "What am I going to say? I saw you with Lola and I know you're doing something," she said shaking her head. "Yeah. That might be the right thing to do," Tiffany said. "I've never been in a predicament like this," Starlene said. "Okay, you're right. I just need to clear the air," Starlene said taking her cell phone from her purse. "You're going to call him now?" "Why not," she said hitting speed dial and listening to the phone ring. "Hello, Morgan residence," a woman answered. "Who is this?" Starlene asked frowning. "Who's calling?" "No I asked first. Who is this?" "This is Lola, but you've reached Stanley Morgan's residence," she said in a more business like manner. "Well where is Stanley, Lola?" Starlene said raising her eyebrows for Tiffany's benefit. "He'll be right back. Do you want to hold on?" she asked as the door to the bathroom opened and Stanley walked out into the bedroom. "Yeah, I'll hold on," Starlene said glancing towards Tiffany and seeing the pity in her eyes. "Who is it?" Stanley asked as Lola held out the phone towards him. "I don't know. Some rude sounding woman," Lola said holding her hand over the phone as Starlene heard her words. "Hello," Stanley said. "Stanley! Who is that?" she asked wondering if he'd try and lie to her. "Hi. How are you?" he asked in his business voice as he tried to figure out how he'd handle this call. "I was better before this. That was Lola that answered your phone." "I'm rather tied up now. Can I call you later?" "Stanley, I can't believe this! I just can't believe you're cheating on me," Starlene said. "I believe you are the one that started this arrangement," he said referring to him catching her with Marco when one of his friends saw them together at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. "I'm coming over there and we're going to get some things straight," Starlene said. "It doesn't suit," Stanley said as he watched Lola arranging the bouquet of flowers he had bought her on the way home. "This doesn't suit me either. We never ever said you could see other women. You are cheating on me Stanley Morgan." "I'll call you later. Perhaps we can have dinner one evening and discuss the plans," he said in a professional manner. "You're losing out. You really are losing me now Stanley." "Deals are made and broken all the time. Hopefully we can close this one over dinner one night," he said hanging up the phone. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
