Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday May 25th 2004 "Two for lunch?" the waitress asked as Starlene and Tiffany entered the restaurant on Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side. "Yes. I have to get back to work in an hour. That won't be a problem will it?" Tiffany asked. "Oh no. Follow me," the waitress said as she took two menus and started to walk through the busy café. "Will this be okay?" she asked as the two sisters' took a seat in the window of the café. "Great, just perfect. Now we can watch people while we eat," Tiffany said taking the menu and glancing at it quickly. "I'll be right back to get your order," the waitress said. "No, we better order now. I don't have much time," Tiffany said glancing at her watch. "Just bring me a salad," Starlene said. "Me too," Tiffany said as they handed the waitress their menus. "So did you talk to Marco this morning about the new TV show?" "Yeah, he said he spoke to his friend George and there hasn't been any decisions made," Starlene said. "I don't like it Starlene. I think Marco is leading you on to keep you happy because he's married." "Yeah, but what about the fact that I met George, the producer?" she said referring to her dinner the other night with the two co-workers. "Did George seem to like you?" Tiffany asked. "A lot," Starlene said grinning, as she remembered how he couldn't keep his eyes off her cleavage in the low cut dress she was wearing. "Maybe he's interested in you for the wrong reasons." "I don't think so. I mean I think he just thought I'm attractive." "Does he know you don't have any experience on TV?" "Yeah." "Starlene you don't really have any experience for this job," Tiffany said shaking her head. "I do too. I posed for Playbody Magazine. I brought the picture with me and showed it to him. He was impressed too," she said frowning at her sister's lack of confidence. "Oh great. So that's what he wants now. Another man just interested in you for the wrong reasons," Tiffany blurted out. "That's not fair. You're just jealous," Starlene said as the men at the next table looked towards them with interest. "Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to sound that way. It's just this guy Marco didn't tell you he's married before the two of you got involved and now all of a sudden he's trying to keep you happy with this promise," Tiffany said. "Well, I don't want to talk about it with you anymore if that's the way you see it," Starlene said obviously angry. "I'm sorry honey. It's just that you don't have anyone else to look out for you up here in New York," Tiffany said referring to the fact that their family was all in rural Georgia. "Like you've done so much better," Starlene said referring to Tiffany's ill-fated relationship with Amir before his wife died. "Okay. Okay. Let's just enjoy our lunch," Tiffany said as she noticed Starlene staring out of the window. "What's wrong?" Tiffany asked seeing the pain on her sisters face. "Look over there," Starlene said pointing to the jewelry store across the street. "I don't believe it," Tiffany said as she looked through the sunlight to the other side of Columbus Avenue.
