Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday May 19th 2004
Starlene sat on the sofa of her sister Tiffany's apartment watching her soap opera when she heard a knock on the front door.  She reached for the remote and turned down the volume on the TV as she got up and walked towards the front door. She opened the front door to see her neighbor and former lover Marco standing in the hallway smiling at her.
"Marco," she said pulling down her tight T-shirt to cover her bare legs.
"You're home alone?" he asked.
"Yeah, Tiffany's at work," she said shifting her weight from one leg to the other as she stood in the middle of the doorway.
"Well aren't you going to invite me in?" he asked noticing that the sunlight from the living room window made her T-shirt transparent.
"I don't think I should.  I mean you're a married man," she said still angry that he'd withheld this information from her before they became intimate.
"Oh come on.  We aren't kids," he said admiring her voluptuous bosom.
"You should have told me Marco. You really should have told me first," she said.
"Come on Starlene.  Why are you acting this way?"
"I have a right to be mad at you.  You didn't tell me you were married before we did
it," she said pouting.
"Would you have done it with me if I had?" he asked.
"No, I don't think so."
"Well, see why I didn't tell you. I wanted you that much honey," he said.
"That's not fair to me."
"Come on Starlene, it's not like you're some kind of kid or something. You've been around," he said eyeing her bare legs.
"I don't date married men."
"But you posed for Playbody Magazine," he said remembering the picture of her in the gentlemen's magazine several months ago.
"That's different.  It's business," she said.
"But I might be doing business with you one day too," he said referring to the fact that he works as a talent scout for a television station.
"You haven't come through with anything for me."
"Starlene are you going to invite me in or make me stand out here in the hallway where anyone could hear what we say," he asked looking up towards the stairs.
"Is your wife living in the building?"
"Why would you ask me something like that?"  He said surprised by her question.
"Because a friend of my said he saw a woman getting mail from your mailbox," she said referring to her sister's ex-husband that lives in the apartment next door.
"I can't carry on a conversation with you like this," he said.  "When you're ready to behave like an adult then let me know. I can't have a relationship with you or do business with you when you act like this," he said shaking his head.
"What are you talking about? What about business?" she asked thinking that perhaps he'd found her a part on TV.
"I'm sorry Starlene. I thought you were more sophisticated than this," he said turning to leave.
"No, wait a minute. Come on in," she said.
"Are you sure?  I don't want to impose on you Starlene.  I don't want you to have me in unless you really want me to come in. I want to know that you care for me and at least still like me," he said.
"Yes, Marco I still like you. Come in, I need to talk to you," she said as they both turned to look towards the stairway when they heard a woman's high heels coming towards them.
