Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday May 14th 2004 "Mr. Morgan waits for you in living room," the housekeeper said in her broken English as Starlene walked into the door of Stanley's Upper East Side mansion. "Hi Stanley," she said walking towards the sofa where he was seated. "Hi Starlene," he said leaning back on the sofa as he watched her walk towards him. "I really want to show you the picture of the wedding gown I bought today, but they say it's bad luck," she said in her southern accent as she took a seat on the sofa beside him. "Yeah, I've heard that too," he said as he poured her a glass of wine and handed it to her. "So what's up Stanley? I was so excited about going to Tavern on the Green Restaurant tonight. Why were you so insistent that we eat here," she said before taking a sip of her wine. "I've got some things I need to talk to you about," he said in a grave tone of voice. "Stanley are you changing your mind about us getting married after I bought the wedding dress? Because I've already told them to do the alterations," she said frowning. "Starlene I just have to ask you something and I want the truth." "I always tell the truth Stanley." "A friend of mine called me the other day and he asked if I was still seeing that blonde that modeled in Playbody Magazine," Stanley said remembering the conversation with his trusted friend of many years. "I guess you told him you were, huh?" she said smiling expecting him to be proud of her. "Yes I did. Then he said that he was having drinks last week at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and that he was seated at a sofa next to you and this guy." "He did?" she said as her mind raced as to how she'd handle this unexpected revelation. "Yes, was that you?" "Well, I did have drinks with this guy that I met. He lives in Tiffany's building. But that was when we had broken up and I'd moved into my sister's apartment with her," she said hoping this would be the end of the questioning. "He said he overheard the conversation between the two of you." "What kind of nosey old man is he? What does he do sit around snooping all the time," she said jumping up from the sofa and starting to pace the floor in front of the sofa. "He said the guy you were with was kissing you from time to time," Stanley said picturing the scene in his imagination. "He might have kissed me on the cheek a couple of times or something." "He said that it seemed like a lot more than that." "Well exactly what did he say he saw?" "He said he overheard the guy ask you if you were ready to go upstairs to the room and that you said 'yes'." "So that doesn't mean anything happened." "He said he heard the guy telling you that he'd 'never been to bed with a woman that makes him feel the way you do'," Stanley said taking a cigarette from the box on the coffee table and lighting it. "Oh he must have overheard wrong," she lied feeling her face burning as her heart raced. "He saw the guy take a room key from his pocket and tell the waitress to send a bottle of wine to room 312." "I don't remember anything like that," she lied again. "Well, why don't you tell me what you do remember Starlene. I thought you told me that you'd been faithful to me." "It's not like it seems Stanley." "It looks really bad to me Starlene. I don't know if I can ever get over this," he said visualizing the strange man having his way with her. "Does this mean the wedding is off?" she asked. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
