Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday May 5th 2004 Stanley glanced up when he saw his daughter Jan walking into the living room of his Upper East Side mansion. "Hello Father," she said as she took a seat in a chair across from the sofa where he was seated. "I didn't hear you come in," he said. "Your housekeeper let me in Father. You better have your hearing checked," she said having noticed this was happening with more frequency. "Oh it's nothing. Well, thanks for coming by Jan," he said as he put his martini glass onto the coffee table and leaned back on his sofa. "What did you want to talk to me about Father?" she said preparing herself for their usual discussions about financial matters. "I've agreed to marry Starlene," he said bracing for her reaction "That's absurd," she said laughing. "Don't laugh. I mean it," he said taking his handkerchief from his pocket and wiping his forehead. "I trust you haven't told her this." "Well of course I've told her," he said. "Oh Father. This is the silliest thing I've ever heard of in my life. All of your friends are going to be snickering behind your back," she said thinking about Starlene's youth. "They'll all be green with envy," he said defensively as the thought about Starlene's voluptuous figure. "I don't think so," she said looking down her nose at him.
"They've all told me how much they'd love to have a woman like Starlene," he said remembering the way his friends had salivated over the picture of Starlene in Playbody Magazine months ago.
"Are you referring to her nude photo?" "Everyone liked it a lot." "They may wish they could have a one night stand with Starlene, but not one of your friends would ever want to marry her. You have taken this way too far," she said getting up from her seat and starting to pace the floor of his living room. "I didn't expect you to understand. I'm just telling you before you read an announcement or hear it from someone else." "Don't tell me that she's planning a big wedding?" she sneered. "I've left it up to her. She's never been married before so I expect she'll want to wear a long gown." "White? Do you think the Playbody Magazine model will wear white?" Jan asked as she stopped pacing and put her hands on her hips. "Stop it Jan. It's Starlene's day and if that's what she wants then it's okay with me." "This is ridiculous. I can't believe you have lost your mind like this." "Well how's your marriage going these days?" he asked referring to her separation from her husband Skeeter. "One disaster at a time please." "That good huh?" "I blame the problems I'm having with Skeeter on Tiffany. We were almost back together until she started throwing herself on him." "Come on Jan. You don't really believe that now do you?" he asked watching her nod her head as he reached for the phone on the coffee table that had started to ring. "Hello," he answered as Jan paced the floor in front of him. "Stanley. How are you my friend?" One of his older business associates asked. "Oh a little busy right now but otherwise I'm fine," he said wondering why William had called him at home. "Are you still seeing that blonde from Georgia?" he asked. "Yes. Matter of fact I'm considering marriage," Stanley said feeling the perspiration on his forehead. "Oh…" William said hesitating. "Why?" Stanley asked. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
