Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday May 4th 2004 Starlene heard the knock on the front door and she quickly rushed across the living room. She opened the door and saw Stanley smiling as he walked into the living room carrying a small gift. "Hi Starlene," he said as he walked in. She closed the door behind him. "Hi Stanley," she said as they walked into the living room together and took a seat on the sofa. "I've missed you so much Starlene," he said kissing her lightly on the cheek as she glanced down at the gift on the coffee table. "So you've been giving some thought to my ultimatum?" she asked referring to the note she had left him on his bed. She gave up on him, packed her suitcases and came to her sister Tiffany's to stay. "Yes I have. I gave it a lot of serious thought," he said. "And what did you decide Stanley?" "We'll get married," he said swallowing hard as he watched her. "Really?" she asked as her eyes widened. "Yes. If that's what it takes to make you happy," he said taking his handkerchief from his pocket and wiping his brow. "Oh Stanley! That's wonderful! I didn't think you'd ever make up your mind," she said kissing him wildly on the cheeks as he managed a smile. "Well I miss you Starlene. It's not the same in the house without you," he said watching her excitement. "When? When can we get married?" "Well I guess we have to set the date. I thought maybe we could have a simple ceremony," he said hopefully. "Simple? I've never been married before and you want me to do something simple?" she said frowning. "Well, let's keep it in line okay?" "I'll start working on it right away," she said as her heart raced in excitement. "Okay. We don't have to rush or anything. Let's take our time." "You aren't back peddling are you Stanley?" she asked in her southern accent frowning as she studied his aging face. "No honey. No. I mean what I say. I've given it a lot of thought." "Did you tell Jan?" "No not yet. I wanted to be sure you still wanted to get married before I get her all upset." "So you are expecting her to be upset?" "Of course, she wants me to marry a woman closer to my age. She's got a few of her society friends all picked out for me." "Well, she'll have to get used to it," Starlene said. "She will. Just give her time." "Well, what's the present?" she asked pointing to the gift on the coffee table. "Here honey," he said picking up the small box and handing it to her. She quickly tore the paper and opened the jewelry box to see a gold bracelet. "Oh Stanley, that's so pretty," she said as she took it out of the box and put it on her wrist. "Well I thought this might keep you happy until the wedding," he said swallowing hard again as he said the word wedding. "Oh thank you honey. You're the best Stanley. I love it. I can't wait until we get married," she said grabbing her cell phone from the coffee table. "What are you doing?" he asked. "I have to tell everyone. I've got a lot to get done now. I have a wedding to plan. You better go so I can get to work on everything," she said standing up and motioning for him to follow her. "Don't we have time to renew our love first," he said nodding towards her bedroom. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
